Im no John Glenn. But your math is off.

Here's a reference table for the operator symbols which were included in my post:

- <--This is a HYPHEN, not a MINUS sign in this case, since it was not used to SUBTRACT within an EQUATION.

+ <--This is a PLUS sign.

/ <--This is a DIVISION sign, which is more commonly used as ÷ in mathematic equations, BUT since the vast majority of computer keyboards in existence (including mine) do not have that option, I often decide using the former instead of the latter (practically 99.999999% of the time).

= <--This is an EQUALS sign.

Here's the equation included with my post:

9 + 5 = 14 / 2 = 7

Here is the operator included within your reply: > or GREATER THAN sign. It is the exact opposite of < or LESS THAN sign.

POP QUIZ!

Question 1: Nine PLUS five EQUALS what?

Question 2: How many phrases are shown below:

9 - starters

5 - backups

Question 3: If you DIVIDE the answer for question one by the number of phrases listed for question two, the answer would be what?

Bonus Question: Is the number nine GREATER THAN or LESS THAN the number five?

I'm John Glenn and I approved this test.

I'm at a seven.

Positives:

-Our QB seems to be maturing a bit....which would be the biggest improvement this team could ever dream of.
-Healthy stable of number one running backs. Yes, that includes Tashard Choice, who I think would start for a half dozen teams.
-As much as I thought T.O was more of a scapegoat than distraction, I do agree this team looks more focused minus Owens, Pac, Ellis and Tank.
-Anthony Spencer is a HUGE upgrade over Ellis....you wait and see.
-Offensive line looks healthy and dominant again.
-ST has to be better than it was under Read....we must hold out hope.

Negatives

-Depth is a major issue, not much of it from what I can see outside of RB, TE and maybe the D-line.
-Penalties still look to be an problem
-Number two receiver, sorry I am not sold on Crayton as a #2. It's won't be a major issue if everyone remains healthy, but what happens if they lose RW?
-Lack of return game, I do not want to see TNew fielding any punts this year.

Overall, the team looks focused, reasonably healthy and sharp, however the depth chart makes me very queazy. If they don't lose any of there core during the season, I think they could contend for the NFCE title and perhaps a Super Bowl...but that's a big "IF".

I would say a five. I think the depth concern will become an issue.

Especially at the WR and OL positions. Safety is a clear one.

You went a long way to make your point. :laugh2:

My hats off to you Mr. Glenn.

Don't tell anyone...But I think those teams have even more issues with depth.

Except the 12-4 Commanders of course.

I went with 7, seems most people are at about that range and I'd say 7-8 is pretty good for a team with question marks and our history in December.

I had to go 5 with this one. I'm not confident that this team will eliminate the stupid mistakes (and the pre-season has, so far, given me enough evidence that those stupid mistakes are still part of the culture at VR), or that the secondary will hold up it's end of the bargain.

I do like the way that the ball is being spread around. The offense seems to be moving the ball well. That's a plus. Unfortunately we are seeing too many long winded drives that end up as filed goals or punts because of untimely penalties.

I won' go "Debbie Downer" or "Blind Homer" on this one. Until the team actually does something of note (other than collapse when it matters most), I'll keep everything in check on both sides of the argument.

9. I feel like we've managed to make ourselves better by cutting T.O. and added more talent with the return of Felix Jones, Bennett and replacing Roy Williams with a more talented safety.

If we can stay healthy, we win the division and make the playoffs--no doubt. After that, I think we've gained some maturity and more chemistry by sticking with Wade.

I also predict penalties and turnovers decrease this year.

I could mock BSPN and go with a 5 here :laugh2:

But realistically, I am going to go with a 7. They have talent and 8/9 is possible without season ending injuries to crucial players, but until a playoff game is won, I will hold them to a 7.

Im no Buehler, but the point remains the starters are more important than the backups.

Peyton Manning is a 10. Jim Sorgi is a 4. The Colts QB situation is not a 7.

Two 2009 Mercedes Benz S500's are not of equal value to a pair of 2009 Honda Accords.

Agreed. I follow. :D

Marion, with this statement you have lost all credibility! :p:

Whataburger >>> Wendys

Let's see... 9-7 rounds out to a winning percentage of 56%. I'll round that up to a 6 out of 10. I don't see much else but, like the next person, I am very hopeful.
