Zeke was in for the game against the Seahawks, which was a must win - we lost

He was also part of our first shutout since 2003.

RBs are overrated; especially on this board.

RBs are a piece of the puzzle...but you can game plan to shut them out and beat even the best ones if the QB play isn’t good enough.

That’s why a good QB is so important...you can’t double cover a QB or stack the box against him.

This is why our O is a roller coaster. The game plan is stack the box against Zeke, jam the middle of the field and make Dak go through profegressions, and accurately beat you outside the numbers which he isn’t good at.

This next contract is likely to be Zeke's only big deal. He will be looking for top dollar. Maybe heshould be a team player and accept less money like people want Dak to do.

Zeke takes/delivers a ton of punishment because he's not very elusive in the open field. Cowboys will probably pay him big but they should draft his backup/replacement soon.

Zeke doesn’t face many stacked boxes. Please stop with this myth.

Thread title is misleading. Running backs are expendable and often interchangsble.

Ezekiel Elliott is indespensible.

Been seeing a lot of talk about the upcoming decision of what we do with Dak...and rightfully so, as I feel like he’s been incredibly inconsistent but that is another conversation.

What about Zeke? Obviously this dude is the heart and soul of our O. I was on record saying we should’ve drafted Ramsey due to how easy it is to draft serviceable RBs. Not saying we made the wrong decision bc Zeke has been stelllar... but look around the league...

Steelers
Chargers
Chiefs
Etc...

Key RBs go down and life goes on...

Not saying don’t pay the dude, but I think it’s a serious question to be considered whether or not we make him the highest paid RB in the league moving forward at the expense of paying other guys on the team.

Hey Einstein the above teams have Franchise QB what the heck are you talking about .....Just say thank you Zeke and move on now.....

I have always said a great CB is hard to find but plenty of good RBs are out there. But Zeke is special and Dak needs a guy like him for this offense to operate.
If Dallas wants to keep Zeke for a second contract they really need to use him like the Saints use Kamara and Ingram. When you rotate these RBs it energizes them to go hard on every play. Zeke looks like he is worn down and just doesnt have that POP when he hits the hole. I think Zeke wants to be the bell cow and doesnt want to come out of the game and its up to the coaching staff to step up and say sit down for a while until we get the ball inside the 20 then you can go back in.

Pretending Zeke is anything more just because we don’t have a QB is hilarious.

All the more reason you should trade Zeke to get a real QB, yes?

If you're good or really good at both passing and running You're really difficult to stop. Right now we're really good at running

We are a poor passing offense

We don't even need a bona fide stud at QB. If we just had someone defenses had to respect and somewhat fear at the QB spot this offense could be near unstoppable

Of the 90's triplets, IMO Aikman is the least HOF worthy. But he was good enough to make defenses account for him and as a trio they we're amazing

Right now we have a really good WR, a top 3 RB, and.... Well, you know

If we upgrade the qb position to merely top 12-15 instead of bottom 3rd, we'll have an incredible offense and still have plenty of cash to pay defensive playmakers as well

Steelers, Chiefs, and Chargers have stellar QB play and play calling, we have neither.
Additionally, my guess is that the Steelers are probably looking at home field advantage for the playoffs right now rather than hoping not to miss them altogether if they had Bell all season.
Zeke is the diff for OUR team making the playoffs and only winning four games this year.
Before Cooper, we had no one else capable of making big plays.
Some RBs on many teams are expendable but Zeke on ours is NOT.

Fans said same thing about Demarco. So many *****ed when they didn't resign him. How have things worked out?

Zeke was top 10 amongst NFL starters last year facing 8+ defenders in the box, and is top 10 again this year coming in around 25%.

So yea, he does.

All posters hating on Zeke have no grounds other than what they hear from tv analysts. The same could be said concerning every position on the field, but RB's seems to be the "dead horse" to beat.

Barkley, Elliott, Gurley, and Bell were studs in college. They are proving the same in the NFL.

Brown, Hilton, Diggs, and Baldwin became studs in the NFL as receivers.

The same could be said for every position on the field, but RB's can be found any and everywhere, lol.

Steelers not having one of the leagues premier rb's cost them the division and a shot at the post season. The Chargers have been somewhat inconsistent and will not win their division. They also have their rb back so odd example. The chiefs have been inconsistent and have looked a notch worse without their horse.
