You proved you didnt know the topic at hand and should have just stayed quiet. If you dont watch the players that were mentioned then dont act like you do, I'd think that's pretty simple to understand. That's why other posters laughed at your comment haha. It was outright dumb.
Ypc, rushing TDs(so the two most important rushing categoeies) YPPA, and ppg are now cherry picked? Goodness lmao

Wishing the Steelers good luck? Wow there's no chance you're a Cowboys fan.
Who cares about yards per ATTEMPT? Lol that’s not a reflection of an offenses efficiency . And I don’t respect 95 percent of this boards opinion so the laughter means nothing

I'm going to reiterate what you just said.

Yards per attempt- an effeciency stat- is not a reflection of an offenses effeciency!?!?!?! Hahahahhahah what did I just read!??!?!

Zeke will be signed to a 2nd contract. He can live up to that. It’s the third contract we shouldn’t even consider. The same was really true for Emmitt, but he was an icon at that point, rushing record, etc....so we were stuck, really.

I can see Zeke getting a 3rd contract, but only if he learns how to minimize the contact he takes.

Zeke has a 5th year team option due to being a 1st round pick that the team does not have with Dak.

With the 5th year option, they could then Franchise him for 2 more years for a total of 7 years.

At that point it would be after the 2022 season. He'll be 28 years old then. Historical data clearly shows that the vast majority of NFL RBs start their significant decline at age 28.
And who his backup is today is illrelavant
You draft the next great RB and start over
Love Zeke but don’t want to be paying a 30-32 yr old zeke

I think for most teams running backs are expendle because it’s a passing league where numerous RB1’s might only see 15 carries.

We don’t play that brand of football. The running back isn’t expendable here, in my opinion. If we don’t want to pay Zeke, we’ll need an All-Pro alternative on call.

RBs don't last, especially those that get worked the Zeke has been. Even Emmitt Smith, who was exceptional in his durability, was not a special player by the time he reached 30. And you don't want to bet the house on someone being as durable as Emmitt Smith, because you will lose that bet the vast majority of the time.

Zeke was worked hard in college and has been worked hard as a pro, and they're going to keep working him hard. I expect them to let him walk after 2020, and I think that will be the right decision.

Emmitt was actually leading the NFL in rushing at 30 when he broke his hand. Then he missed the next game, then left another game after a groin injury on his first carry. I'm not disputing what you said, just wanted to throw that in.

True although none of those teams are a 90’s run based offense...
This is what everyone is missing. Our scheme requires superior players. It did back in the 90s when it was established. If you have questions, check any game Emmitt missed.

Been seeing a lot of talk about the upcoming decision of what we do with Dak...and rightfully so, as I feel like he’s been incredibly inconsistent but that is another conversation.

What about Zeke? Obviously this dude is the heart and soul of our O. I was on record saying we should’ve drafted Ramsey due to how easy it is to draft serviceable RBs. Not saying we made the wrong decision bc Zeke has been stelllar... but look around the league...

Steelers
Chargers
Chiefs
Etc...

Key RBs go down and life goes on...

Not saying don’t pay the dude, but I think it’s a serious question to be considered whether or not we make him the highest paid RB in the league moving forward at the expense of paying other guys on the team.
Just go look and see how easy it is to find a RB like Zeke. Serviceable don’t cut it in this offense. The offense needs an elite RB to have any success.

“In this offense” to me means bc the QB isn’t good enough...if that’s the case then we’re talking about extending Zeke and the search starts for the next QB which is lots of fun.

he will be gone in 1 year anyways. cant understand the debate at all. none pays 15+ mills for a RB. Maybe for 1 year but not for someone who carried the load for 5 years already. go on jog on.... be clever draft another one.

RBs are expendable in a league built around the pass.

Trade Zeke and I will stand by this until he is on another team.

We won’t always have this coaching staff and they won’t always run the ball 30+ times a game
