We won’t always have this coaching staff and they won’t always run the ball 30+ times a game

I’d argue it’s clear Garrett is trying to duplicate the 90s model, be it with Romo/Murray or what we are trying to do today. Perhaps you’re more confident than me that Garrett will be on his way out anytime soon.

While styles can certainly change, I’d be surprised to see Garrett away from this model that brought him success as a backup player and his only real success as our head coach.

I don’t expect Garrett to last much longer. He may have bought himself another year IF he has a decent playoff game. However, if we get stomped, I think Jerry will send him packing and bring in a coach he believe can salvage Dak’s career

If it’s a young gun coach, you better believe they will try to implement a more pass happy approach

Been seeing a lot of talk about the upcoming decision of what we do with Dak...and rightfully so, as I feel like he’s been incredibly inconsistent but that is another conversation.

What about Zeke? Obviously this dude is the heart and soul of our O. I was on record saying we should’ve drafted Ramsey due to how easy it is to draft serviceable RBs. Not saying we made the wrong decision bc Zeke has been stelllar... but look around the league...

Steelers
Chargers
Chiefs
Etc...

Key RBs go down and life goes on...

Not saying don’t pay the dude, but I think it’s a serious question to be considered whether or not we make him the highest paid RB in the league moving forward at the expense of paying other guys on the team.

Zeke is not like any other RB. He is on the cusp of a 2nd rushing title, should be three, he is only 23. The Steelers faded fast down the stretch. I think Bell would have a difference. We will see about the other 2. Those 3 teams also have quarterbacks teams respect. No one respects Dak.

Conner's been down and the Steelers are losing.
Chargers have Gordon who is playing.
Chief's have been losing ever since Kareem Hunt has been let go.

If you thought this offense looked bad when we didn't have Amari Cooper? It would look 10 times worse without Zeke.

When we played the Jaguars what did Jalen Ramsey do for them? You saw what Zeke did and how much more he impacted the whole spectrum of the game right?

I beg to differ your point.

Lmao. You didnt help your point at all.

You see CJ Anderson fill in for Gurley yesterday with 160+ yards at 8+ypc.

Continue to be wrong!

:lmao2:

I means it really is crazy how solid the RB depth is across the league.

It is a bit different for us, as I’m continuing to lose faith in Dak the more I watch as I think he needs an elite RB to stay relevant.

RB's are a dime a dozen every draft season. Zeke is going to want massive bucks and we should keep him for 5 and then draft a new one. No RB is worth 25mil in this NFL these days. Zeke is great but, not for big money. We did well with Murray for a year and we can find another RB to block for Dak, yuk!

Zeke is unique to other rb situations across the league and particularly what he brings to the cowboys. Basically, Dallas lives by Zeke and dies by him on offense.

CJ for one is good back, two he was last minute fill in on passing team and took AZ by surprise and lastly AZ is layng for the #1 pick..any questions? agreat back who can be counted on week in and week out that can make the special plays are good for 3 wins or more and that why Pitt misses bell and conner those little extra plays..

you do have to be cautious about over paying for them, Bell asked for too much and was willing to lose 17mil by sitting out and betting on himself showed Greed, I doubt Zeke will hold us hostage like this but you never know.. Dak or Zeke both have to be willing to be a team player and not try to play hard ball to stay here, in that scenario I let both go..you can NOT put all your money in those two positions..we can simply keep adding to the defense and go find a RB and QB in 2020 if by chance we get selfish asking prices for these guys..you cant blame PB for not keeping Bell, they did plan ahead and had a good back developing, we have not..that shows our FO and coaching deficiency's not having a contingency plan..

theres fine line here..Zekes worth keeping but for what price?

We have what most Cowboys fans will claim as the best running back in the league. In a non-running league, Zeke is leading the league in total rushing yards and fans are gushing over this accomplishment. Kudos for Zeke leading the league in rushing. I don't want to take that away from him because he does have the 304 carries he has contributed.

He is 20th in the league in average yards per carry (4.8).
He is 19th in the league in rushing TDs (6), tied with 6 other players including the worst QB in the league...Dak Prescott, despite having a ton more carries than the others.
He is tied for 33rd in the league with Blake Bortles for longest run from scrimmage (41 yards). Among those who have a longer run is a punter who has a 42 yard run and a QB who had a 45 yard run.

No way should Zeke should get a huge 2nd contract, but Jerry will probably give it to him.

It really is crazy.

You can sign a guy on Tuesday, and he'll put up 160+ yards, a TD on 8+ ypc 5 days later as long as the quality of players around him are good.

I think an elite Oline would help Dak much more than an elite RB.

All have QB's that you really have to work to defend. Makes their running game much easier.

Apples and oranges to what Dallas has to face every week

Not to mention that our offense can't function without him.

They are running Zeke into the ground. Franchise him for a year if they have to, then move on. Murray didn't last 2 1/2 years after he left.
