RB is gonna be a 'You know what show' led by a washed up Zeke leading the way with probably 3.0 YPC.

Mel's top 15

Running Backs
1. Jonathon Brooks, Texas
2. Trey Benson, Florida State
3. MarShawn Lloyd, USC
4. Jaylen Wright, Tennessee
5. Braelon Allen, Wisconsin
6. Blake Corum, Michigan
7. Isaac Guerendo, Louisville
8. Ray Davis, Kentucky
9. Bucky Irving, Oregon
10. Isaiah Davis, South Dakota State
11. Blake Watson, Memphis
12. Audric Estime, Notre Dame
13. Will Shipley, Clemson
14. Dylan Laube, New Hampshire
15. Tyrone Tracy Jr., Purdue
Probably will have to be one from this group if we don't trade up. I'd love to see us take two stabs at it. We may strike out, but Isaiah Davis and/or Estime and/or Tracy would at least be a couple of swings at getting a hit.

that would be considered bell cows (20+ carries a game)
So, in your opinion a RB can only be a "starter" if they get 20+ carries a game?

Since not a single RB did that last year, then there are zero starting RBs currently in NFL?

Help me understand your logic in this. Cause it's not making sense.

Henry had most carries total at 280 which is 16 carries a game.

Going back to 2013 the most we see is 3 RBs in any one season at or over 20+ carries per game.

So only 3 starting RBs in any given year in NFL?

The NFL and RB position are having a disagreement with your definition of a starting RB.

Quit being obtuse, you know dam well what is considered a starting RB and what is not.

Do you really think Jerry would be practically announcing in his presser tonight that they are going to bring Zeke back if they thought there were any starting caliber RBs left in this draft?

You might as well start looking at 2025 Running Backs.

This FO has to be proven dead wrong about something before they move on from their stubborn and almost always wrong stances.
I thought they got the message after our season of Randle, DMC, and Alf. They did fine, but the difference with Murray and rookie Zeke was obvious.

You complain no matter what they do.

So to summarize.

You make a truth claim about only 3-4 starters in the draft

I ask you what a starter is in your opinion

You give a definition that centers on 20+ carries per game.

I show you over last 10 seasons, we only see at most 3 RBs in any given season that meets your definition.

You ignore the facts call me obtuse.

Seems about the norm on this board.

I always see people on here say 'never draft a running back before the 4th round' so now that we haven't everyone is on here complaining. Never change cowboyszone.
Lol true. I would've been happy going round 2, but I was worried Jerry would try to pawn Zeke off on us again.

So the cowboys still need a running back.

I checked the 30 visits and here are the RB’s still left that were 30 visits.

Braelon Allen- Wisconsin
Bucky Irving- Oregon
Rasheen Ali- Marshall
Jase McClellan- Alabama

Any chance Allen or Irving is still available when the cowboys pick in the 5th?
I think you are looking at Bucky Irving. If they are really giving Zeke 250 carries, Irving could be productive as a COP. But thats what career is going to be

Trey Lance is going to line up as the RB and make some throws too when Dak gets the jitters against the 9ers like he usually does.

They‘re going to call it the Texas Toast scheme.

Beyond Bill Walsh innovation.

I thought Jimmy was going to be in the War Room or close by. To talk some sense into the Clampett family.

I like Rico but he seems to struggle to stay on the field.
Dowdle played in 16 games this past season (inactive for the last game v. WAS).
Only 89 carries total all year though. A high of 12 rushes each in a couple of games - but in the other 14, Dowdle averaged less than 5 attempts per game.

Zeke has experience picking up blitz’s and snapping the ball. Remember the last play he had with the Cowboys?
This isn’t a attack on you and I know this isn’t how you were going with this post.

But my god. The Zeke at center and all in jokes are overplayed.

Don't forget Will Shipley.
Local kid and my son played against him when he was a freshman in HS and College. He’s an amazing player, athlete with an incredible work ethic.

Apologies but the only one "Crying" every day here is YOU!
All you do is complain about what members are posting and how it doesn't agree with your logic.
I complain about stupidity and ignorance....now go away and keep an eye out for the plane

I thought a trade down from 87 to pickup another pick would be better
Spot on. and still looking at this as a 2025 draft. I'm sure we're building the running game, not on the Back, but behind the scheme.

Does anyone else ever notice how we always ignore a position every year. I mean WE don’t. We are screaming “hey we really need a (insert position here).” But the FO thinks we are just fine. It was Safety for years. Then and still now DT. And also now and last year RB.

As good as we were on Offense when Elliot was here and healthy. Always something.
