Agreed. If he didn’t realize then he should have someone that works for him that handles and checks this stuff out. When you do that to thousands of loyal fans you would have to expect trouble. Some of these people paid money to by Cowboys gear. Go to games.
glimm, if he read that Forum, he didn't consider those posters fans. We were seen as the disgruntled lot, a bunch of Landry lovers and Jimmy junkies and those two names keep him from being the face of the franchise.

I don't think he cares about the people that frequented his site and they were very small change in the grand scheme. As long as they sell out, he doesn't care about any fans. If the fans that go to the games want to get his attention don't make any signs but dollar signs.

I’d say the members of the site on the most part were not big contributors financially or attended games regularly. Reid and 927 traveled on occasion to games yearly and Erod and I only admitted long time season ticket holders. Bob Haze used to attend many games and Coach I believe. That’s about it.

Much of that site was a place for fans from all over to interact. Jerry didn’t sacrifice anything by giving up that site except some good ideas which it was obvious as Ksboys pointed out on several occassions Jerry or someone was looking in.

Look how many people from the site that posted about going to the game on Sundays. Not saying that just because they can’t post on that site anymore that it will keep them from going to spend money at the games. But whether he knows it or not what happened there was wrong. He isn’t losing a lot of money, but respect and support means something. I guess just not to him.

I think you may be wrong there, i believe alot of members (like myself) invested in team merchandise . I personally own 18 Jersey's, plus numerous hats, caps, jackets among many other things

Can’t believe how many former names I’m seeing here! Nice to realize posters who had gone m.i.a. are actually here. Harris...Harris...Harris?

The mothership (boards.dallascowboys.com) is officially shut down :( after being a member for 1/2 a decade (longer than my son has been alive) it's a sad day. I feel sorry for the guys that have no idea this site exists but it's nice to see some familiar faces.

Yea, but thats not a direct effect Jerry would feel from a few fans spread all over the country.

Former Forum Folks, try saying that fast 5 times without stopping to breathe. Didya? Ideeyuts, never fails to work.

The first time we made a partial migration here, we huddled in here like a flock of wet ducks and the Staff, mainly Idgit, kept trying to get us out among them. I am signing off tonight but am getting out and about in our new home tomorrow to interact with our new step brothers and sisters. My first trip in here I don't think I gave this a fair shot, because some stayed here and actually spent most of their posting time here, because I got homesick and ran out of underwear with my name in them and I wasn't going to wear someone else's. Idgit offered to loan me some but have you seen that guy???

I do have a favor to ask. Since this is new, can one of the Staff rock me to sleep or read me a bedtime story? Now, I don't like your usual bedtime story. We have to turn out all the lights except the small flashlight you will use to read "Naughty Nymphet Nurses Naked in Nantucket". I promise to go right to sleep after you finish it....the third time.

Thanks to the members here for the warm welcome as you folks can really relate to losing something that was home for so long with your own forum, now our new forum.

Nightie night, just kidding about reading the story. I'd be fast asleep before you got the pages unstuck.

First, welcome to the site! We are sorry to hear that DC.com is shutting down their forums, but we are always happy to accept more Cowboys fans here!

CZ runs on high-end enterprise servers using XenForo forum software and the site and servers are optimized heavily for performance. Even when we have topped 3,000 users online during games, our servers operate just as fast as they do during the lowest traffic periods.

There will be a bit of a learning curve with the family friendly rules and the change in software from IPB to XenForo, but give it a little time and we think you'll like it here!

Welcome to CowboysZone and we hope you find your new home here!

I think this is above my knowledge. Good info though. Where is the like button?

I'm really horrified that they killed the site so fast. At least a few days I think would've been appropriate. If I hadn't checked it this morning I wouldn't even have known.

Yea it's sad how many guys have no idea, a lot of people take a break between the last game of the year and the draft. It's complete BS to be honest

For the death of your old forum!
Embrace the memories and look to the future.

Indeed sir, indeed. As I said in another thread..

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Endless spam threads by 43Harris43 about how much the Cowboys suck. I watched meltdowns glitter across the board after every playoff loss. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

But hey, this place looks nice. A great new beginning for this site I hope.

I was on that board for awhile, lets just say i know your older members, mods, and your mods know me :lmao:. All in good fun during a turbulent Romo era. I was in the thick of some nasty Romo stuff that went on there years back. This is a very good board and the mesh will be easy. Make yourselves at home and branch out and use the whole board.
