Demarco Murray went nearly 2 and a half years with only missing two games. He and McFadden aren't comparable folks. Want to call Murray "injury prone"? Fine. But do not act like he and McFadden are the same. McFadden, if not missing games, had a nagging injury bringing his play down. This is well known. The argument of "It was Oakland" doesn't hold up, McFadden failed there because of his health, not because of the team.

I think if this RB situation crashes and burns, I doubt anybody is brought in. That would be an admission that they were wrong.

Now thats the problem. They probably won't bring in anyone just to prove to the world that their right. It might come to Dunbar carrying the ball 20 per. game.

Best time to fix this issue is right now. Get some runningbacks in here to compete with Mcfadden and company. We have 13 linebackers. Why can't we bring in more runningbacks?

After years of not having a decent OL, we now we have a great OL that helped result in us having one of our best seasons and most balanced offensive attacks in recent memory.

And what is the teams takeaway? The OL is so good we don't need a quality RB, anyone will do. While we may not need to have a high salaried RB, it's not likely we can just put anyone back there and duplicate the success. But that seems to be exactly what we're planning on doing.

And if anyone hasn't noticed, Romo isn't getting any younger. He's in his mid 30's. If this gamble doesn't work out we may not have many more chances to make a deep run before we'll need to find a new QB too.

Thus the Cowboys FO really need to stop this lunacy. The only thing thats holding this team back from being complete is a dependable or a good runningback. What we have now won't cut it.

Your right. Romo doesn't have forever. We need to fix this issue now before it ruptures like a bad spleen.

Murray (from Oakland) had less carries than McFadden, his YPC looks so good because of the 90 yard run he had. 1 run. Take that away and his YPC also falls into the 3's. Not to mention they changed o-linemen out from when McFadden was running to when Murray was running. Nobody was looking good behind that garbage line for Oakland. Same reason that Randle had a higher YPC than Murray. Volume of carries

Ok so Murray runs a 90 yard run. So what? That still doesn't answer why he consistently got almost 5 yards a carry each and every year of his career. His best output was his rookie season averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He didn't have the vaunted oline blocking for him back then. Why is that?

I'm rooting for Ryan Williams to finally get his healthy opportunity as a starting RB. I'm thinking McFadden will be used as the 3rd down back.

If we don't like what we see in training camp, here's a preliminary list of guys we might make some calls for:

Matt Forte (contract year, new regime, and just drafted Langford and signed Jacquizz Rodgers and still have Kadeem Carey from last year; would be perfect one-year rental)
Christine Michael (uber talented, SEA just resigned Lynch to a big deal and have Turbin as backup)
Stevan Ridley (NYJ just traded for Stacy and have ivory. Ridley coming off ACL but should be fine by mid season. Cheap contract)
Khiry Robinson (NO resigned Ingeam and signed spiller)
Isaiah Crowell or Terrance West (CLE just drafted Duke and may not want to carry 3 RBs, none of whom play special teams)
Bryce Brown (very talented former Eagle, but bit of a head case. BUF traded for McCoy, still had F Jax, and drafted Karlos Williams)

West and Crowell would be nice. I was hoping they would trade for Stacy.

Patriots won the Superbowl with SIX running backs throughout the year, the panic about the need for going out for a running back is getting ridiculous,,, the Cowboys have a 1st rounder in Mcfadden, a 2nd rounder in Williams, a 5th rounder in Randle and a free agent signing in Dunbar...and the Cowboys signed a developmental back in Days out of GT last night as a UDFA...I think the Cowboys will be fine....

I actually think that Randle can be a good option. I believe he can carry the load and do it all. However he cant be trusted.

DeMarco Murray is probably an A- RB.
Randle is probably a C+.
McFadden is probably a C+.
Williams is probably a C-.
Dunbar is probably a C-.

That's quite a dropoff. I have some hope for Randle and McFadden. But I'm worried.

I wouldn't mind him in Dallas. Also do not be surprised if Ryan Williams emerges as the starter.

Martin is in the last year of his rookie contract and has only a $1.3M salary. We could fit him under that cap as a nice one-year rental, if something happens with Randle (DV suspension) or we dont like how DMC and Williams play in training camp.

Darren McFadden. Doug Martin. Joseph Randle. Ryan Williams.

This looks like the roster of that dude who ends up 3-11 in your fantasy football league.

Did you consider Murray a A- back before last year?

By the way that ranking is far to high. Grade A RB's are great running backs and he isn't.

Check my history. I've always been high on DeMarco. (I'm an OU fan as well as.) He's flashed great skills even before we had a dominant line.

I think he's an A- RB when comparing him to other backs in the league. With our line, he was an A+.

Why are we comparing ourselves to the most successful franchises in the last 15 years?

Right. Like we have the pedigree to do what NE and Brady and BB do.........

20 years of nothing, and we finally put together a team that could beat anybody, powered by the running game............

So, the most logical thing to do at this point, is hand over the keys to a throw away backup running back......

Good luck with that. I want to bet it crashes and burns Romos last run at a Super Bowl, but I will be rooting for them.....

Can't give grades to Randle until we see how he does in a starting role. Same with Williams if he gets it.

Frankly, I hope Im wrong. That way our team does better. But there are too many IFs right now with our running game. If your okay with that than fine. I'm not. Thus i'm vocal about what I believe is wasted opportunity right here right now.

I am not sure why they are so certain, that the RBBC of scrubs will work?

I could very well be wrong but, I seriously see it being a problem, and struggling to make the playoffs.

I am not sure how the FO or anybody isn't the least bit of concerned?

Why are they gambling this much, when they didn't have to........?

yeah, I know. RBs just arent that important, dime a dozen...no big deal. Go cheap at RB...our OL can make anybody look good.

They could of at least drafted someone;
