Really doesn't it come down to Romo?

The man got paid $108 million to be the franchise player, the Peyton Manning type player on which this team could count to lead them into the promised land.

The offensive line is much improved, especially in pass protection. Romo has had more times standing there with plenty of time than I've seen in years.

He has been given power to play like Manning/Brady/Brees/Rogers and call more plays at the line of scrimmage, which he is doing.

Yet at a key point in the game (third down 9 yards from the end zone), he didn't recognize that his receiver who is one of the top specimens in the game and was having a monster game was singled up against a much smaller CB. Instead he threw it to a rookie in the flats on a play that had no chance.

That is unacceptable at this point in Romo's career. UNACCEPTABLE. Anybody who says it is acceptable is in such a state of denial his driver's license should be revoked.

The top QB's in the game - P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rogers - all make that play 100% of the time.

It's time for Romo to start playing like he's being paid.

It's one play. I'm so sure that P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rogers all make every play every time.

It's got to be somebody's fault that we had to settle for a FG three times.

It's the difference between winning and losing.

I've always wondered if Romo is good enough to handle the chess match at the line of scrimmage. More often than not, he seems to get overwhelmed by the pre-snap stuff and ends up giving what the defense wants AKA a play that is safe but maybe too safe.

They would definitely make that play. Anyone could see that they had no chance covering dez one on one. He was all alone on that side of the field with a corner. Yet romo audibles to a play to the other side, where all the congestion is.

What is the point of having a guy like dez if we are not going to use him like we should?

I guarantee you that if he was in a different situation he would be dominating this league right now.

That is our biggest problem. We try to be too cute sometimes. If something works, keep going to it over and over until the defense shows they can stop it.

So all those QBs have always identified a favorable match up? Never overlooked an open receiver?

Not when it is 3rd and goal on the goal line and you have your receiver who has caught everything thrown to him so far with ease and he is one on one

I would expect a rookie qb to be able to make that read. It was as obvious as it gets.

Romo needs to play better and I think he can. He is no Peyton Manning but they do not grow on trees.

Romo got overpaid. There is no denying that. He isn't good enough to overcome the weaknesses of this team because really he doesn't have the confidence that he can and neither does the team around him.

That said he is a really good player and we can win with him but this team needs to gain confidence.

Also.. Even the best QB's have stinkers. If you don't see that then you are watching too many Cowboys games and not the rest of the league.

Actually I think the play calling has been the biggest hindrance to the offense so far.

Though yeah... That was dumb of romo to pass hat matchup by, but its also ignorant to act like manning, Brady, rogers etc couldn't possibly make the same mistake.

ALL qb's make mistakes. Period.

Simple solution. Take Romo out, put in another QB and is the offense better? Another QB would have to deal with the same Oline, RBs and playcalling?

But reading this article Jay Cutler made me wonder, *IF* there is improvement in the Oline this season, could Romo be going throught the same adjustments? I know at least a couple of folks pointed out how in pre-season a few plays where Romo seemed to react to pressure that wasn't there. I do recall at least a couple of plays where he could have stepped up into a decent pocket but didn't...

From the article, "“The hardest thing right now is stepping in the pocket and not seeing ghosts because these guys are doing such a fabulous job protecting,” Cutler said on his weekly radio show on ESPN 1000."

The rest of the article: http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post/_/id/4685975/cutler-no-longer-seeing-ghosts

So a Romo mistake is unacceptable. Ok what shall we do? March on Washington? Burn him in effigy? Hurl pitchforks at the team bus?

Really folks it Wednesday. Let it go. And either go root for another team/qb or deal w Romo's salary. You're not paying it and it doesn't guarantee perfection.

And that Romo "stan" thing is the dumbest thing on the board. Sorry Zordon I love ya man and you're brighter than that. Where is Romostan anyhow in the Middle East?

Those QB's have made a lot more plays than Romo especially in big games which is why they've all won multiple playoff games and each own at least one SB ring.

and they have all had better teams than romo has had with the exception of 2007. But then a notorious romo hater like you thinks that only QBs matter.

So what about P Mannings INT that ended their season last year?
