On the 2nd play of the game Jeff Heath slips on 2nd and 9 to allow a 1dt down conversion by their TE #89.

Not sure what people were watching but if by "slips" you mean gets blocked (aka, picked) then, yeah. This video begins with that play.

The GOOD - Finding Heath and X. Woods as an undrafted Free Agent and a 6th round pick. They have definitely outplayed their draft position. More Kudos to the front office finding productive players late in the draft/Free Agents.

The BAD - Both were starters in 2018. Should they be on the team - YES! Can they contribute - YES! Should both be the starting safeties - NO!. I am comfortable with one guy starting (Woods) and the other being a reserve/ST ace.

The UGLY - If both are the starting safeties in 2019

This defense needs a leader and a playmaker in the backend. Oh wait, there is a free agent who fits that mold and played under Richard. There is no doubt he’s coming to Dallas. They were about to give up a 2nd round pick for him until Williams was available, then they were ready to give up a 3rd. Do you think they were going to pick him up for 1 season using that type of draft capital? Of course not they planned on paying him. So now they don’t have to give up any draft capital to get him.

Umm, just awful....

Brian broad house stated Heath was in man coverage on guy that chipped d.law, that was his primary responsibility. He was ultimately forced to pick his poison, if he had jumped Goff run right away, his guy would've likely received a short pass....end result of play then....who knows

We need 2 safeties. But since we don't start drafting until day 2, we might end up with 2 serviceable players...not

Even if he’s in man coverage, you have to have some level of awareness. The guy he’s supposed to cover didn’t “chip” Lawrence, he flat out blocked him and was tangled with him. It’s unlikely at that point he can then get free and run a route.

Heath showed little awareness and play recognition there IMO.

You’re right. Deer in the headlights.

I hate all this excuse making for him.

How about we try to find a safety who can......... oh I don’t know.......make a damn play.

Instead of.... well his responsibility was.... oh well game over, season over, cowboys lose. But Heath didn’t totally blow it, so let’s keep him.

Usually the read guy is taught once your man blocks, eyes to the quarterback. I have no clue what Heath was doing or thinking there. Heath was a zero on that play, he wasn't in any position to cover anyone. That was 11 on 10 football on a money down.

I don’t want him on the roster after this season. He sucks.

He was the 3rd leading tackler on the Cowboys behind LVE and Jaylon Smith, and the Cowboys were one of the top teams in the NFL against the deep pass. Heath isn't a star, but those facts prove he far from sucks.

Wide open WR downfield. You guys can stop whining about Heath now.

Great. The WR is open.

Heath’s job at that point is make Goff throw the ball or tackle him short of the sticks. That was his only job after the guy he was supposed to cover stayed in to block.

He failed. It’s not whining. It’s reality.

It really doesn't matter cause he's a coaches favorite and is loved by Garrett and Marrinelli. He's not going anyplace and will retain
his cost effective job.
No matter if he is a coaches favorit and he should be from his devolupment into a serviceable player; we did offer the Seahawks a 2nd rounder for Earl Thomas. If the coaches and Will can find his replacement; they will. We need an upgrade at the safety position.

Only during the draft when it made sense. Doubt that we would just do a deal with him being a year older and we can draft a safety this year. He wants top money and Stephen is loathe to do that any longer.

I know he's a fan favorite here and was continually ticketed as better than Byron(despite many logical explanations to the contra) from those that get sucked into flashy plays once every blue moon.

He's a big reason towards our loss on Saturday.

Luckily the safety market has cratered, and finding an upgrade for Heath should be extremely easy.

Hes not a fan favorite. Hes the worst safety in the NFL. Any fan that likes Heath is no fan of the Cowboys.
