Terrence Williams is a name that keeps popping up in the positive collumn in camp reports going all the way back to OTA's. He seems like a player that has become worthy of more responsibility, however within Dallas's offense, he is not likely to get much of an increase in touchs, if he gets an increase at all. " Too many pigs for the tits" as Abe Lincoln liked to say.

In two years when his contract is up, we are likely going to have to churn that spot. Its always possible that he takes a team friendly deal and remains, but its not something I just assume will happen.

I know it takes a bit more forsight then some people like to give considering its two years down the line and alot can happen, and alot of people just want to focus on the now.

However I like varied discussions. Given our offensive dynamic and the fact that Bryant will see be a bell cow, what should we expect from that #2 WR spot if Williams does indeed walk after his rookie deal. What level of wideout, be it a niche WR or a potential bell cow ( 3rd round guy VS a 4th round guy) would we need?. What dominant skill, be it speed, possession or route running .

Is Terrance Williams a template for what we want at the position while we have Bryant. Or if he walks should we look for a different type of WR

I look at there interest in Devin Smith this past draft as an indication of what they want there. Smith like Williams may never be a bell cow type WR, but like Williams he can really punish a team for dedicating too much coverage too Bryant and like Williams is a very good vertical WR

DEZ and Williams make a good 1-2 punch.

Did you really just respond to your own op?

If a really good prospect WR slips into the 2-3rd round in next years draft, I would not hesitate to grab them. I wasn't even against grabbing Green-Beckham this year.

But if we are to replace Williams, I want another 6-1-6-2 speedster. Romo does well with players like Williams and Robinson.

I want to get this D line and Pass rush working.
I want to start looking at drafting someone to groom under romo.
I want to see how this RB situation pans out and if we still need to upgrade it.

At this time....worrying about replacing TWill (if we need to at all) is way down the list.

Haha yes. If im posting a thread where I pose a question to get opinions I never post mine in the OP because then I feel it makes the thread more about my opinion. If I want to include mine, I post it after the OP. That way a poster can either debate my opinion, or give there own

If we do it this year, I would look to see whats there in the late 3rd as we will still have Williams in 2016 and we can groom a player. To take someone higher in 2016, I would want a return demon who would have a major contribution in 2016

Waiting for the body catcher posts....

I think TWill is a great compliment to Dez with Street getting an increased role. Beasley will still be great in his role.
No need to be concerned 2 years down the SB road. The FO has shown to be scouting and getting the right players to improve the team and to replace any players that leave. Also have retained players they need to.
Far more right decisions than wrong decisions these past years.

I can't think that far ahead because I've still got concerns about this year that I want to see worked out. Then there'll be all the questions we have to answer next offseason before we can get back to Williams. But I would say most likely he'll Alvin Harper the Cowboys, going off for bigger money and a bigger role that probably won't work out for him, and either Street will be ready to step up at that point or we'll go looking for another No. 2 in the draft.

I will say that I'm feeling good about the shape of the receiving corps after not only wrapping up Bryant long term, but Beasley for the next four years. To me, having those two under contract for years to come gives our WR corps a chance to be very good no matter what kind of receiver we eventually replace Williams with.

problem for later.

I personally love that every year we have to really look at players and make a hard decision on whether to pay them a high rate vs. scrubs we have to decide on whether they fit on the team or not.

I just love the fact we are actually in a quandary of letting good players go. We've come a long way from the Olgetree, Hambrick, Stanback days.

If Williams can be signed for a reasonable contract, I'd resign him. There's needs in other places instead of constantly having to use higher picks on receivers.

It will be interesting to look at being that Witten could be wrapping his career up by that time, and Gavin Escobar would also be a free agent. That would leave vacancies at two positions, and would take away two of the top four targets. They definitely have to be looking at that next offseason.

They're not the same type of player, but I see Terrence Williams and think of Patrick Crayton. He did some things last year that made me think of him as Romo's security blanket.
