I want to get this D line and Pass rush working.
I want to start looking at drafting someone to groom under romo.
I want to see how this RB situation pans out and if we still need to upgrade it.

At this time....worrying about replacing TWill (if we need to at all) is way down the list.

Very true
Twill is a solid player and we have street behind him who seems to have taken another step forward this off season
While a team must look down the road I think they have with street and we always bring in some developmental types each year
If a good prospect falls and is bpa at a spot then take him
But I think going into the next off season looking at QB should be pretty high on wish list
Not a fan of targeting a position but if the right QB was in the range to go up and get I think I would seriously consider it
Though going up from last pick to where s QB will be is very expensive

If Williams can be signed for a reasonable contract, I'd resign him. There's needs in other places instead of constantly having to use higher picks on receivers.

I wouldn't hate it, but you also have to remember that we will need money for 2nd contracts for Martin and Frederick around that time, and would not be too far away from having to pay any starters we drafted this year

Now on the flip side. Most likely we wont be paying Romo for much longer at that point and will likely have to roll with a somewhat green QB. May be worth it to keep an experienced WR around

It will be interesting to look at being that Witten could be wrapping his career up by that time, and Gavin Escobar would also be a free agent. That would leave vacancies at two positions, and would take away two of the top four targets. They definitely have to be looking at that next offseason.
Unless he gets a heavy workload in the next couple years, I can see Escobar being a 1 year deal guy his 5th season. If Witten hangs them up, I think it will be here

TWilliams is having a very good camp, right now just looking forward to the season and look forward to him making some big plays for the Cowboys.

They're not the same type of player, but I see Terrence Williams and think of Patrick Crayton. He did some things last year that made me think of him as Romo's security blanket.

So, a security blanket that drops critical 3rd down passes in the playoffs when no one is within 10+ yards of him?

Yeah, I believe a ton of money will be freed up because around that time Romo and Witten may end up retiring, so we'll end up giving whatever successor QB a treasure trove of resources if we can retain our O-line and keep T. Will.

If Randal can't get her done and McFadden is an IR waiting to happen I'd dangle Williams out there. His ability and contract could be a nice bargaining chip.

Nah. Trade Escobar and a draft pick.

Beasley is the security blanket for Romo. Williams is more of a big play guy ala Alvin Harper.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I think Beasley is an option, for sure, but as a more targeted player. I think when plays break down, T-Will as a bigger target plays that role better.

Way too much can happen to worry about that. At this point in a qb's career there might be a changeover there at that point. Thats why there is no reason to worry about a draft a couple years down the road. Needs change month to month.
