We should not get another WR like T-Will.

More like Martavis Bryant

I loved his speed and athleticism coming out. But I think the Cowboys have been looking for guys that are precise route runners over athleticism lately. Someone that the qb can trust to be where he's suppose to be.

Williams will likely play more snaps and have a higher average.

Beasley as the slot WR will only play in 3 WR sets but those are primarily passing downs. He will like have more catches.

Similar to the dynamic duo of Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Don't even remember who the other outside receiver was on that Pats team.

I may be wrong here but I think that Beasley is the second wr in this offense and Williams is third. I see the cowboys drafting another wr next year or the after to replace Williams. the cowboys already locked up Bryant and Beasley so I do not see them putting more money in that position. I see them hoping like some posters above said that street takes Williams spot so they do have to draft or even try to pay Williams. we are going to need whatever cap room to keep the oline intact.

Terrence Williams is a name that keeps popping up in the positive collumn in camp reports going all the way back to OTA's. He seems like a player that has become worthy of more responsibility, however within Dallas's offense, he is not likely to get much of an increase in touchs, if he gets an increase at all. " Too many pigs for the tits" as Abe Lincoln liked to say.

In two years when his contract is up, we are likely going to have to churn that spot. Its always possible that he takes a team friendly deal and remains, but its not something I just assume will happen.

I know it takes a bit more forsight then some people like to give considering its two years down the line and alot can happen, and alot of people just want to focus on the now.

However I like varied discussions. Given our offensive dynamic and the fact that Bryant will see be a bell cow, what should we expect from that #2 WR spot if Williams does indeed walk after his rookie deal. What level of wideout, be it a niche WR or a potential bell cow ( 3rd round guy VS a 4th round guy) would we need?. What dominant skill, be it speed, possession or route running .

Is Terrance Williams a template for what we want at the position while we have Bryant. Or if he walks should we look for a different type of WR

It would seem to me (amidst all the rb and defensive chatter this offseason) that WR is a position that has been quite overlooked. Think we should have drafted one. Forget about 2 years from now, there really should be a good young prospect immediately behind him on the depth chart at this time. I think he should be getting challenged for his position now because he's decent but far from great. That would also be addressing for years to come. Without Dez Bryant, this receiving corps really is about as pedestrian as the NFL has.

I truly believe that the greatly improved work ethic and resolve that T-Will had displayed toward the end of last season and in camp this preseason will stand him in good stead.

I'll be greatly surprised if he doesn't display an intensity and steadiness in the level of his play that hasn't been typical of him in times past. It's a new T-Will now as compared to what he was. All the signs are there and I'm definitely not the only one saying as much.

I'm banking on it and feel extremely confident that the staff would heartily agree on that. Garrett and the staff put him to task on that last year and in the offseason. Obviously, the light came on for him and he has not only accepted but welcomed the challenge. Let's at least make some attempt to see things as they are now and not necessarily as they were in the past. Sometimes people and their attitudes can change. We'll soon see.

The difference is that (I think) Welker played all snaps not just 3 WR sets.

That would be a mistake. Realistically speaking we do need to put ourselves in a position that allows us to make the best move for the team and that likely means drafting a WR next year unless Devin Street shows he's capable of starting. Same goes Randle, I don't see Dallas paying him either in 2 years, so we need an alternative to turn to, just like we did when Demarco Murray became a free agent. This is something that needs to be on the teams radar after this offseason no matter how they perform.

It's good to have backup plans, but this just seems overly paranoid or just a reason to wah.
