It is no mystery that Fox and the NFL are in bed with sports books and gambling. One has to wonder if this plays a role in situations like the tipped punt?

So the network has the cameras, control over replay timing and camera angles, and puts tools like Mike Pereira in the booth to sway decisions on officiating. This is like the fox watching the hen house.

I don't agree with Mike 100% of the time. Mike is there for people that don't understand football.

As popular as football is, there are still a lot of uneducated fans, and I believe the NFL loves it that way.

I mentioned this in the game thread. It seems as if FOX deliberately doesn't show replays, like the tipped punt for example. When Schotty was asked why he didnt challenge it, he said they didnt have a clear video. I learned today that the NFL relies on the broadcast to get their footage for reviews. Now I know this sounds crazy but, this seems like a way that a network can somewhat influence the game as well as a way to help ratings. Theres no way the NFL should be relying on a TV network for their video review. Not sure why this isnt beign talked about more. I know for a fact that if I worked for a TV network, none of the teams I hate would ever see a review till much later in the game as well.

The only thing that can happen here, if Fox messed it, up whether it was negligent or just by accident, you got to hope the league saw it and they'll send a letter to Fox to get it right next time...

Maybe there was just a glitch in the system of broadcast, maybe the wrong camera was on that specific area of the play, I don't know how it works..

I don't think they did it on purpose and yes it needs to be done better but I don't know why New York didn't have a better view why is New York watching the exact game we are ,and can't call down and say that they believe it was tipped, and go ahead and stop the game ,and do a replay..

why did they need to see a replay the same as everyone else shouldn't they have a better Feedback like the feed that doesn't Fox have like a truck or they have an area of the stadium that they have all these broadcasters in showing the angles and you know they're literally producing the game as we're watching it, shouldn't New York have like more of a real time view of all those cameras at every angle??

I think if New York wants to get this right they should have a person in that room or that truck or whatever how they're doing it nowadays doing the broadcast with every angle and that person not from New York or if they want to do it from New York without a delay, Should have easier ways to see if it should be replayed or not..

Guess my short point is shouldn't they have a direct feed to all the angles that are being shot by the Fox network the same as the Fox producers are having it in real time without the delay because if they're watching it the same way we are that's not going to work in situations like this...

I have noticed it across many games this year and it is more noticeable if you have Sunday Ticket and see many games. The networks love close games and have a stake in the point spreads.

Basically the players, coaches, and betting fans are walking into a casino when they choose to partake in the game. The casino is run by the NFL, the networks, and the sports books they openly support.

If the player is adamant, then you have to trust the video evidence is there.

Whatever it is don't say it wasn't conclusive I saw his fingers vibrate as soon as they finally showed the actual replay that was needed to make that decision it was too late the Eagles were already lining up and snapping the ball that's too late something happened it doesn't mean it's a conspiracy but it was obvious as soon as they showed that angle in slow motion where his fingers got bent back and they vibrated coming forward it was quite obvious he made contact with the ball..

That's not in question they did not show the proper replay in show motion for our coaches to make the proper decision or for the refs from New York to call down and say stop the play that is on the network no one's saying it was done on purpose they just looks like that because that play that was shown right as the ball is being snapped for the Eagles on the next play should have been shown first Something weird happened and it was probably just a glitch that shouldn't happen..

Just remember the enchanted blown up view was done till later if BS challenges it that view would have been available. So it’s on BS not trusting the player who told them he tipped it. No conspiracy no hidden agenda no network problem especially when the guy who tells BS to challenge didn’t see it either in the replays

He did trust Flo. There was simply no evidence.

The league said the play on the field would have stood so the HC made the right decision to not challenge.

I agree, after the play was over the Cowboy player kept indicating that he tipped the ball but nothing was done about it, when the Eagle started their series was when a clear replay was shown on TV that the tip occurred! What a freaking joke!!!

That is not what happened. It was ten minutes later that the video was available and it *still* was hard to tell a tip had occurred.

The video wasn’t shown until after the eagles had scored.

Crazier conspiracy theories have been brought up here so you never know like the clock operator for the Green Bay game i'm still questioning that that's the longest frozen 1 second I've ever seen in my entire lifetime we're not all stupid something purposely was done to make sure they can kick that field goal and they shouldn't have had the chance And that should be able to be reviewed as well like somebody with a real watch go back on the review and see if the clock ran for actually only one second if it ran for three seconds game over you should be able to challenge that too..


Back to reality brian Schottenheimer is still wrong he should have listened to his player he should have trusted him and he should have threw the red flag anyway It was a big moment in the game that gave them a new fresh set of downs and a lot of yards you have to throw the red flag regardless if you're not sure or not just throw the damn thing that's what it's there for That was a bad decision to not throw it regardless of what video you didn't or didn't have your player vehemently said it hit my fingers I think he would not say that if it didn't hit his fingers And later we saw it literally hit his fingers you can see his fingers shaking after the ball hit it..

Every player always thinks they made the catch or got that extra yard. Thats not how it works, you cant challenge every time a player thinks or tell you they made a play

I also realized that but I'm saying in this case at the pivotal moment in the game what that play meant at the time I think it was worth trusting your player that time that's it we're talking about that very play....

A smart coach would have a player fake an injury for more time instead of wasting a timeout.

Hopefully you'd lose your job. The networks and the NFL are partners in this.
Since they are relying on the networks video replay they should have officials involved.

It’s well known that home stadiums and arenas in all sports do this with the Jumbotron. They will hold off on showing any replay if showing it might encourage officials or coaches to check out the video above before a challenge.

A lesser scale than a network conspiracy, but sure, gamesmanship is always at play.

I’m always reminddd of the snowplow game, which was a straight up classic home field advantage.

With that one I found it interesting that the driver being on a work release program became a thing.

I agree. I didn't care for the NFL's excuse that the TV network didn't get the league that close-up in time. The league shouldn't be relying on the network for replays. It should have access to footage that its booth can scour independent of the network.

The league does have to rely on the network to provide the footage because the network has the cameras that are filming the game, but it should have independence in reviewing that footage. If not, it does give the network some control over the officiating that it should not have.

To me, with the technology we have now, there should be a crew that is going over plays like that one with a fine-tooth comb as soon as they happen to try to make sure the call is objectively correct.

Maybe they could include plays like that as part of the review all turnovers rule. It is technically a turnover.
