If Cooper, Warmack, Floyd and Richardson are all gone and Vcarro is BPAat 15 and news that St. Louis is said to want Vcarro then I have no problem trading up for a player they think is far and away better than other safties and can be a difference maker on this defense.

Yep. But hopefully by that time we will have more picks.

If true, once again the Cowboys value Secondary over Dline and Oline.

If I'm Romo, I would not resign with this team. It's an insult to him and the fans.

If we traded UP for that waste of space Vacarro I'd burn VR to the ground.

Hell, I'd do that if we took him in the 2nd round.

You really think the highest rated safety in the nation is a "waste of space". I get not wanting to draft him in the first, but your whole statement seems a bit over the top. The guy can play.

We shouldn't trade up for a safety that is slower than a lot of NFL linebackers. I think Vacarro has bust written all over him.

Let me tell you something that might be just as bad, if Damontre Moore, Warmack and Vacarro are there when Dallas picks, the organization will pick Vacarro.

That would be a nightmare.

I began writing this article with the full intention of telling you that Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro might be the elite, playmaking safety that Dallas Cowboy fans have longed for and if available, should be the selection with the 18th overall pick. But after watching more of Vaccaro and digging a little deeper than just highlight clips and listening to the media, I must admit I am not as impressed as I should be for a potential first round safety.

Kenny Vaccaro is widely considered the best safety in the 2013 NFL Draft class. But he is a very different player than the other safeties in his class. Vaccaro has the rare ability to play as a deep center fielder on one play and then come into the box on the next. He can also cover the most explosive slot wide receivers college football has to offer. This was very evident when he was assigned to cover West Virginia’s Tavon Austin early in the 2012 season. Austin is one of the most electric offensive players in the entire 2013 NFL Draft and Vaccaro did a fine job coming down and limiting his production.

The NFL Combine isn’t the end all, be all for draft prospects. But what it does offer is the ability for a team to compare prospects to former draftees. For the sake of comparison, these are the last four safeties to be drafted in the first round and their measurable next to Kenny Vaccaro:

Was just about to post this. This is the article I wrote for The Landry Hat today and I am not too happy about this report. But everyone needs to remember, March and April is the time for liars. There were so many reports about how much Dallas LOVED Dontari Poe last year and I doubt he was even on their draft board. Take this with a grain of salt because I believe they are more likely to trade down this year then to trade up.

I agree with this. He is a good player, but I don't know if he is the player we need for this defense. He is not a great fit in Monte's defense.

Good work. I didnt know you wrote TLH. My biggest concern is the lack of playmaking. First rounder has to be a difference maker.

Appreciate that. Just started a few weeks ago. I believe that your first round pick has to be at the very least one of your best 10 players 3-4 years down the road. I like Vaccaro and I think he will be an above average safety, but we need a playmaker in the back end.

I'm not a huge fan of Vacarro, but thats just a false statement. Let me guess, youre basing this on his 40 time and not the fact that he routinely covered WR's well 1 on 1 in the college? Vacarro has more than adequate speed for a NFL FS.

Speculation based on commonly known variables, masquerading as reporting. Gotta love it.

In other news, The Chiefs value Jockel and Fisher and may just be in position to take their pick between the two. More at 11.

 obviously meant college. And I already know youre going to debate that too....he doesn't have the coverage skills of a CB and shouldn't be left 1 on 1 with WRs a lot(very, very few FS can be), but hes far from a liability in coverage and can definitely handle TE's without a problem. He's not even top 5 for guys I want who will realistically be there at 18, but saying hes not worth a 2nd round pick is ridiculous.

Agree except part where u say take him. I'd rather them trade down and pick up more picks and take safety either later in the 1st or 2 or 3rd. Only way I want 1st round safety is if we move down and he is clearly best player on board by long shot
Kind of agree. At least I did qualify it by throwing in BPA.
But yes, it just seems like an ideal year to wait a couple of rounds and get good value at safety.

Same bleep, different year in Big D.

For some reason taking a safety with a trade up doesn't surprise me. I have said all along that oline wasn't an option for Dallas. They just can't bring themselves to value linemen that highly. After the trade up last year, I threw the towel in. No more watching college prospects, studying scouting reports or worrying about who the Cowboys might draft. Their approach to team building is so different than mine, that I don't even care who they draft. You pegged it . Same , different draft.

So but your wrong, name other safties that are just as good that will be available when dallas picks in later rounds. Cyprien is the only one that is even close to Vcarro and he will go late 1st early 2nd.

....and alot of us agree on that...which is why it's maddening that they might consider trading UP to get Vaccaro:banghead: ......so much panic and fail in their draft strategy...it's just pathetic.
