that "THUD" t hat you heard in the 3rd quarter was methuselah's head cracking the table in front of him when he fell asleep...cut bait already...if Marinelli is the guy, and he is that fragile that he will leave if Kiffin is fired, then see ya marinelli....my God, what is with all of the idiots that are hired by this organization? If marinelli really would leave under those circumstances, then hire someone to take over and turn the D around...ANYONE that is brought in will look like a savior if he can get this defense even to around 20th in the league

Rumos are Callahan is jetting too.. Funny how no body is mentioning that Callahan's 'play calling' and work on the OL had Murray running like a beast and we went from 36 sacks too years in a row with Garrett as play caller to top 5 in the league in sacks allowed. He just takes all the blame.

I can't wait till karma finally hits Garrett in the head....

I appreciate him stating the obvious, but I remember them saying that they would address the O-line a few seasons ago and that resulted in Berny, Costa and Livings as the starting interior heading into 2012. Let's see how they actually plan on addressing it before any props are given.

What a joke. I hope Marinelli is not dumb enough to fall for this one, and I hope Kiff puts up a fight.

The defense played pretty well last night, and just like Rob this Red Head gets a get out of jail card. Complete crap!

I guess a year removed, everone forgets all the calls for Rob's head. He wasn't any better. Sticking up for Kiffen yet blaming Garrett? He didn't have much of a say in his DC. Maybe he should have a say this time around.

So does RM run the Tampa 2 also? Why is he getting the approval of posters as DC? Isn't he a product of kiffins scheme?

Even our firings have to be "amicable"?? Stop sugar coating it and cut him loose, it isn't rocket science, are they trying to agitate an already beaten down fan base?

Does anything really surprise you with these clowns?

Not sticking up for either. Thought it was a ignorant move to hire Kiff. I actually liked Rob and that that was some bullcrap the way they called him on vacation.

They can keep the whole staff as long as they get rid of that Red Head!

Frazier as a d coordinator have been mediocre at best. Marinelli has a better track record as d coordinator.

I think if Lovie Smith gets the job in Tampa..

you will see Marinelli going there to work for Lovie.

That's a big issue right now if Kiffin is being moved aside.

Not necessarily, Jerry can deny Marinelli to be interviwed. The promotion clause does not exist anymore.
Only way Jerry agrees, is if they want to replace entire defensive staff.

I don't see Jones refusing Marinelli going to Tampa.

The same thing sort of happened when we went calling for Garrett off the Miami staff.

If Marinelli wants to leave..

its a professional courtesy..and you play this game the right way.

Yeah, I honestly believe we'll be looking to replace more than Kiffin this offseason.

Wherever Lovie goes, I think Marinelli follows.

Not that I really mind. Marinelli is a great coach. But he was part of this mess too.

Would like to see a fresh face come in

Screw amicable, call the cops and tell them Kiff wont leave Valley Ranch. Then go sit in your office and watch em drag him off in chains. Thats would be hilarious, though Jones would get sued to high heaven. I dont understand why things have to be amicable. I have fired people wether they liked it or not. I most times did not like it either. I tried to be pleasant but if you leave me no other option, I'm fine with crawling in the mud and getting dirty as well. I've been fired as well and did not like that much either. When you blow the gig its time to move on, the entire defensive staff blew the gig on this one. But lets be gentlemen about it now, how much money do you want to go away, I would kill to get fired like that.

No, but if anybody over the last few seasons deserved an "amicable discharge" it was Rob, not Monte. Monte stayed up there the whole year, perched in his little box like he was better than everybody else, and showed us some of the worst defense we've ever seen. Rob busted his hump, and while his scheme wasn't always perfect here, he worked with what he had and was never shy about backing his players and team 100%

Well JG proved that you keep a job by throwing your players (your QB) under the bus...so Rob brought it on himself...what was he thinking?

Just the next scapegoat. But I agree with the move. No Rod, no Kiffin.

Having given Kiffin the job of installing an entirely new defense and insisting he make it work with players who either acquired to play in a 3-4, weren't NFL caliber, were out hurt for extended periods or for the season, or weren't even there, I doubt if there is any way to amicably show him the door after only one year. He had no real chance to make it work, and that is the minimum that any employee would expect before being terminated.
