Report: Cowboys WR Glenn done for season

I'm wouldn't doubt that Austin and Stanback have comparable speed. I just wonder about the hands and route running ability. These two may get some serious playing time this season. Hopefully, one of these guys will step up.

I would think that Jerry feels that Crayton and Hurd can feel that role.

I guess Cadwell is now on the radar or did mister Bug Eyes get picked up already by another team ?

Watch Adarius Bowman of OSU , Harry Douglas of Louisville and Earl Doucet LSU.... Limas Sweed of Texas

And of course D. Jackson if he comes out...

And let's not forget the All American WR from Oklahoma - Malcolm Kelly

I would even say the best hands of the whole crew.

Crayton is a dependable #2 with phenomenal hands and finesse.
I think losing Glenn is bad thing, but not quite as bad as many would like to believe.
We'll take a step back in the explosive deep threat ability by losing Glenn. But we'll take a step forward in the move-the-chains ability by gaining Crayton.

Glenn is dominant at times. But he disappears for stretches of games, also.
I don't think Crayton will disappear as often and will provide solid performances every week.

If you have to lose an offensive starter, I think Glenn is the best case scenario.

Mark my words, Crayton will be a pleasant surprise.

I'm sure Crayton will do well as the #2 WR. The rest of our WR's are unproven. We also need a burner to step up - either Austin or Stanback.

This is the time for a young guy on this team to shine. No one is stuck behind a bonified starter, so guys from Crayton to Hurd to Austin to Stanback, all of them should be licking their chops to step up and become the newest threat on the Cowboys team.

This is the perfect opportunity for these receivers this year, just like last year with Bledsoe sucking so much. Romo had his one opportunity to do something about it, and absolutely did.

I think it's true...

I think Dallas is maybe trying to make a deal and if a team knows TG is gone for the season it costs more to do business...

Exactly...so glad Matt used his old Dallas sources to let ESPN get the word out that he is done. If we were trying to keep this hush hush, to maybe get a WR on the cheap...it's now been blown wide open.

There goes the speed at our reciever position.

I love how some of you guys are talking about the draft when we haven't even played our first game yet, with that kind of thinking, we'll end up with the #1 and #2 overall picks in next years draft.

As far as I'm concerned, Crayton isn't exactly the guy you want starting 16 games, plus what happens if he gets hurt? Then we've got T.O. and Hurd and Miles Austin as our third? What happens if T.O. gets hurt! We'd have Crayton and Hurd as our starters?

It's because of crap like this that people critisize Jones, we've got a very real need for WR last year in the draft, and he drafts a QB project instead. Wonderful.

So now we don't have Ellis, Glenn and Newman is hurting. I don't know about you guys, but I'm very worried.

So what teams have a surplus of WR's right now? Any ideas?

Patriots and whom?

So where are all the posters that were saying that Glenn was better than T.O.? You can't be better if you aren't on the field.

Just kidding. I am not really calling people out. Injuries suck, but are part of the game and not really predictable. You can look at trends at try to imagine different worse case scenarios and go for there. Glenn has played in all 16 games 4 times in his 11 seasons. Four times he played in 10 or fewer games. I think Dallas has taken steps to deal with the possibility that Glenn may not be available for a large period of time. There are 6 receivers on the roster, which is deep for that position. Some may not like the options Dallas has chosen, but it is what they have done.

It is not like top tier talent is just sitting out there readily available for all teams to pluck when they run into trouble. The Colts may be hurting if they suffer an injury to Addai. They have unproven and really unheralded guys sitting behind him. No one is criticizing them now, but if Addai is hurt then Polian and Dungy may be second guessed.

SAM HURD.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

SAM HURD.

We have better hope for him than any others from the outside.

Speed is a problem still, however.

Caldwell would not be an improvement. I think Hurd can do exactly what he can.

The problem right now is a deep threat.

Now I will throw out a name: Quincy Morgan.

Too bad we didn't draft a WR and a Corner in the 2007 draft.

Wonder if Stanback can pretend to play DB as well as WR?

I don't want any of those guys on the Pats roster.

Wow!

How many times have I read on this board that you dont win the SuperBowl with the WR's??? They arent that important.

Now we are sulking over an old(I love him for what he did for us) at best, #2 WR.

We drafted one WR and two CB's. WR's usually take about three years to develop. I'm also really happy that Wade didn't draft Robert Meachum.
