Over reaction to an MRI. Is it just me or does our so called medical team for the Boys resemble the Keystone Kops?

He's a washed up WR with an attitude problem. If we want a younger, talented receiver with an attitude problem, Antonio Bryant is available.

The TG era is over in Dallas...

Hopefully we can trade for Andre Johnson....

I think we already have TG's long term replacement in Stanback. But I doubt he's ready for a starting slot until sometime next season.

If we trade for someone, I expect it to be more of a special teams/WR project to relieve Austin of some of those duties. We have one great receiver on the roster in TO, a very good proven vet in Crayton, two young guys starting to show something in Hurd and Austin, and a rookie with great potential. I don't think there are too many teams in as good a shape as we are for the long term.

ESPN's Matt Mosley reports Terry Glenn will miss the season due to complications in his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery.

A member of the organization told Mosley, who used to cover the Cowboys, that Glenn is indeed lost for the season. An article saying so was posted on Dallas' team site Thursday, but pulled when owner Jerry Jones decided to hold off on making the announcement formally. Jones said in a revised story that Glenn would miss "at least two weeks."

So Jerry lied and gave fans false hope when he knew Glenn was lost for the season? That's scandalous if true.

Well...they used a FOURTH ROUND pick on Stanback. Mister electrifying, remember?

DO NOT give me this "he's a developmental guy" nonsense, either. Maybe if you just won the Super Bowl you make that pick. Not when you have Terry "mister glass" Glenn.

Hey I have an idea. Why not take a wideout who has actually shown he has a knack to play that position?

Ridiculous.

Ya, what Jerry says is more important than the loss of Glenn

You can't be serious. You think Stanback will be ready to replace Terry Glenn by next year?

It takes WR's that played the position in college a couple of years to adjust to the pro game. It's going to take a QB to WR conversion considerably longer to be considered starting material.

Matt Jones, the QB turned WR that the Jaguars drafted is still trying to adjust to the position. The only reason they start him, is because the rest of their WR's are just as bad. I would hate for that to be the position we're in next year.

We will need to pick up a #6 receiver. Are Urban and Rector still available?

I guess TO, Crayton, Witten, Fasano, JJ, and MBIII's hands just fell off?

No one said you have to tell the truth. Ask the last coach. That's number one and no one cares so it's not scandalous.

Number two: false hope is relying on Glenn to stay healthy.

Aside from Owens, not one of these players brings the speed dimension to the field that Glenn brought.

I'm fine with Crayton, have been for two years.

I like Crayton a ton -- but TG's speed is the real issue -- we need that guy who can stretch the D.

Absurd. You should go into politics.

Sorry to hear that he's hurt, but happy that he won't light up the Eagles this year.

You still have T.O. and Witten which is better than our group of receivers and TE's.

DMN Blog: Looking for receivers

If Terry Glenn is out for a significant portion of the season, do the Cowboys look to make a trade for a receiver or see what's available on the street?

Trades are tricky because teams generally don't like to give up draft picks. But for a team that expects to win now, as the Cowboys have stated, then they might have to give up some of the '07 picks. Not either of their two first-round picks, certainly, but it might have to be a first-day selection to get anybody good.

I saw some reports earlier in camp that Miami's Chris Chambers might be available, but I don't see that happening. The Patriots have a plethora of receivers on their roster and the Joneses certainly get along with the Krafts. Maybe there's something there.

If you're looking on the street, you've got guys like Reche Caldwell, who played for New England last year and helped beat Wade Phillips in the playoffs, Az Hakim and former Cowboys Quincy Morgan and Antonio Bryant. Whomever signs Bryant, however, has to have sit out a game because of an NFL suspension. Here's a name: Keenan McCardell. He's the ultimate professional. He can pick up a system quickly.

If that's the case, Phillips could have Owens be the deep threat and Crayton be the possession receiver.

DMN Blog: 'No crying in football'

Wade Phillips confirmed that Terry Glenn is out this week and perhaps much longer after suffering a different injury to his right knee a couple days ago.

"We're gathering information on it," Phillips said when asked if putting Glenn on the injured reserve is a possibility. "We're trying to determine what his status is beyond Sunday."

Jerry said on The Ticket this morning that he expects CB Terence Newman and LB Kevin Burnett to play against the Giants. Phillips said both would be gametime decisions. Jerry ruled Greg Ellis out this week.

Phillips vows that the Cowboys' won't use the injuries as excuses.

"We're certainly not going to whine about it or cry about it," Phillips said. "We're not crybabies. No crying in football."

Tony Romo violated that rule in the Qwest Field locker room, but it might only apply during the regular season.

Why would any team lay all their cards on the table for all to see during the season? You have to play it. If it involves misinformation, so be it.

I don't think you switch everyone's role to accommodate one guy. Crayton becomes #2 and plays Glenn's position. When we go 3 wide, Hurd takes Glenn's role and Crayton line up as he would as the #3.
