Report: Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashes in Ukraine...w/video

Call me crazy, but I hate how all of the photos that are taken are either edited to hide the most graphic parts or just not shared at all. What is the point of having a camera if you aren't going to share the images.

Call me crazy, but I don't really want to see body parts strewn all over the place..

That's just me, tho.

btw, if you go on twitter, I'm sure they have more graphic pics.

In other news IDF has started ground invasion with tanks into Gaza and White House is on lock-down from suspicious package. Bad days for the world :(

Holy crap they shot it down with a SAM? I am cringing at the thought of the US doing another mass deployment over to the Ukraine now.

Holy crap they shot it down with a SAM? Oh boy this is going to be really ugly now. Russia possibly opened a whole new can of worms.

JUST A GUESS...

I would be surprised if it were the Russian military...

NOW it very well may have been Buk missiles that "found their way" *cough*cough* to the Russian-influenced separatists operating in the UK... Maybe like through a lawn-sale or something. o_O

Ever been a responding unit to an accident and had to use a shovel to recover parts of a body? I'll just pass...and people were still seat belted into seats on the air craft.

The alleged episodes mark what Ukraine says is mounting evidence that Moscow is directly supporting the separatist insurgents in eastern Ukraine who have been seen to have substantial quantities of powerful weapons in recent weeks.

Security Council spokesman Andrei Lysenko said the pilot of the Sukhoi-25 jet hit by the air-to-air missile Wednesday evening was forced to bail after his jet was shot down.

He said the rockets launched at Ukrainian troops were fired from the Russian village of Kuibyshevo.

There will be a lot of finger pointing to go around but everyone please remember 295 innocent souls were lost today. A lot of families will be hurting tonight for loved ones gone forever.

(CNN) -- [Breaking news update at 5:08 p.m. ET Thursday]

The United States has concluded the Malaysian airline was shot down, a senior U.S. official told CNN's Barbara Starr. One radar system saw a surface-to-air missile system turn on and track an aircraft right before the plane went down Thursday, according to the official. A second system saw a heat signature at the time the airliner was hit, the official said. The United States is analyzing the trajectory of the missile to try to learn where the attack came from.

This may start out like the "Katyn Massacre" with one side blaming the other but I don't think it's going to take quite as long to positively sort out who launched the missile.

My question would be, if Ukraine did this, what happens? Russia?

Such a cowardly and inhuman act to shoot down a civilian airline. I guess they (whoever "they" are) thought it might be a military cargo plane (my assumption) and their plan of action is to shot first and ask questions later. Pathetic.

I'm pretty sure it was a mistake, neither one wants a third world war.

If Ukraine did it, they were suddenly see much of their support evaporate.

If Russia or their supported groups did it (a MUCH more likely "if") then I think you're finally going to see European countries start to sanction Russia, and I think you start seeing military equipment being given to Ukraine.

just tell them to get it out of iraq. :)

Interesting they deviated slightly from their flight path going up further north than planned due to weather. That was a horrible happenstance.

in this day and age identifying the type of missile involved will be fairly easy. Depending on how much of it they can recover, they can just about narrow it down to the SN of the missile that did it. At that point identifying who fired it will be pretty easy. If this is a BUK, narrowing down the model will go far as regards who fired it. The Ukraine military has a model about 3 series older then what the Russians are currently operating. IF this missile is newer, then the finger can only point in one direction.
