I don't know if I'm happier that the deal is getting done because we're getting pacman or that maybe all the Pacman Rumor threads/arguments can stop if it gets done.

No but one that was fifth in YPA and second in success percentage in 2006 certainly is.

The only thing worse than looking at ints to evaluate a corner is tackles.

Exactly, take TNEW for instance.

The guy is a shutdown corner, does he get a ton of INTs during the course of the season? I think not!

PacMan will help us TREMENDOUSLY when he acts straight.

He will be one HELL of a nickel back and is one of the top return men in the game, thats a given.

I LOVE this.

Pacman update
The Cowboys continue to have "light" talks about what it's going to take the Titans to give up defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones. Basically, the Cowboys want to give up as little as possible and the Titans want something of greater value for a player who was once the No. 6 overall pick in the 2005 draft.

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said again Thursday afternoon that Jones will not be playing for the Titans next season, and that he has no problem with him appearing on The Michael Irvin radio show this past Monday.
"We've given (Jones and his agent) permission to look for a new home, and whatever happens after that happens," Titans coach Jeff Fisher told Nashville reporters at a news conference to announce the retirement of Titans offensive lineman Benji Gil.

One report from SI.com had the Cowboys offering a seventh round pick in exchange for Jones, but an NFL source said the Cowboys right now are trying to determine how high the pick will have to be.
Jones is currently suspended by the NFL but plans to apply for reinstatement before the draft.

The problem is, with Pacman Jones all but declaring his love for the Cowboys and various sources confirming there is interest on the part of the Cowboys the team loses some of its leverage. But sources said the Cowboys are not prepared to give up anything higher than a fourth round draft pick, and that may be too high of a price.

The Cowboys could potentially throw in one of their linebackers, such as Bobby Carpenter or Akin Ayodele. Carpenter is a former No. 1 pick who has struggled to find playing time and sits behind Greg Ellis, DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer at the outside linebacker spot. Ayodele figures to see his playing time cut and his status as the starting inside linebacker removed with the addition of free agent signee Zach Thomas.

Comical everyone bases ints on success. Tsk tsk. =)

Howdy Fuzz. Good to sees ya.

Trufant had more ints that Newman last year. That makes him better? HA!

Don't you mean "if"? As in "based on his history to date, there's no reason to believe this guy can stay out of trouble, but if he does..."

Sup mang. Some people are going to hate however they can. I really wish they could take the high road like ABQ and others and basically say they just don't want him and leave it at that.

I see Engel is still on his lone quest to get Carpenter traded. At least you would think he would realize that Carp moved to ILB and didn't take a single snap at OLB but hey whats facts to get int he way of an agenda.

Not necessarily, in that other huge thread, there was a post about Mosley saying that the player offered was Carp.

Matt Moseley just said on GAC that the player is rumored to be Carpenter.

Don't shoot the messenger! ;)

Not much. FWIW he said that Romo was on board with Pacman being signed.

I imagine there might be a podcast with him saying that.

OTOH, depending on when he was on the radio, things might've changed. There was about a 2 hour lapse between the radio posting and the blog post.

Titans coach says so long to Pacman
March 27, 2008 4:56 PM

Titans coach Jeff Fisher sounded as if he'd closed the door on Pacman Jones earlier today.
"We've given them permission to look for a new home and whatever happens after that happens," Fisher said. "He's entitled to his opinion. I know he has enjoyed the time that he has spent here on the football field. But because of his choices and such off the field, he's created a situation where he's going to have to look elsewhere."
"All we can do is move forward and if we're able to put something together that we think is good, then we'll just wait on the commissioner's decision. It's a peculiar situation, one that's a result of (Jones') personal choices and it's really just in the commissioner's hands."
Actually, the Titans and Cowboys could agree to a trade while Pacman is still suspended. SI.com's Bucky Brooks is reporting that the Cowboys have agreed to throw in a player and a late-round draft pick, which makes no sense at all. At this point, Jerry Jones is bidding against himself. Why would he sweeten the pot?

A source at Valley Ranch told Hashmarks today that a player hasn't been mentioned.
