To add to that:: there was a recent report of another player that came out in this year draft who had similar issues prior to being drafted. From what I've read the league has opted not to pursue an investigation because it happened before he was drafted and therefore was not under the league's jurisdiction at the time. I'm curious why Zeke's case is special and I suspect it is due to the reasons you stated.

The woman made the allegation to police in July after the draft not before the draft.

No, I'm pretty sure the allegations happened before the draft, because she was initially trying to hurt his draft stock. It was swept under the rug relatively quickly because it became evident very quickly that it was a classic money grab move on her part.

It sure seems like the NFL is trying awfully hard to fine something, anything to get Zeke for some reason..

Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott has reportedly been accused of domestic violence by a woman who stated he was her "live-in boyfriend," according to TMZ Sports.

The woman filed a police report with the Columbus Police Department on July 22, per TMZ, saying Elliott assaulted her while she was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle. Elliott has denied the allegations and has not been arrested.

The NFL has no business of acting like the FBI, they are not a law enforcement agency. Let the professionals conduct the work and if found innocent, leave it at that.

What is next? ATT, McDonalds, Exxon, etc acting like law enforcement of judge, jury and executioner? Sure, they have the right to fire/suspend an employee but it should be based on our justice system's results......not their own investigative team.

It is what it is but the NFL is getting too big for their britches

Sometimes it is faster for McDonalds investigative team to find evidence an employee is stealing, for example and fire said employee than it is to rely on the justice system. Why should they have to wait until the justice system provides them with results before they can act? And if they did fire the employee without any proof of theft since they are waiting on the justice department then that just leaves them open to lawsuits. Having their own investigative team protects them as well as speeds up the process. McDonalds, ATT, Exxon also probably wouldn't ignore/disregard any findings from law enforcement. That would just lend credibility to their own findings.

I don't think the example of McDonalds has anything to do with Elliott and the NFL. Different situations. Also, the NFL obviously doesn't believe in a speedy process or apparently working alongside with law enforcement.

I am seriously tired of the NFL wanting to be more powerful and all knowing than the local court systems. I honestly don't care what people are doing in their off time. If the Courts of anywhere America doesn't charge someone they are innocent until proven guilty.

You were right as well. She filed an abuse charge in Ohio in Feb. She then filed charges in Florida in July claiming once again he had abused her

The NFLPA needs to get its act together in the next negotiations and make it clear that when a player signs with an NFL team what he did before that is NONE of the NFL's business.

One of the police reports she filed was on July 21st in Florida which was after the Cowboys drafted Zeke.

Come on, JDay. He wears a half jersey. That's like having two heads and wearing both baseball caps backwards, and angled.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I don't care what they're doing, but if no arrests are made, then I agree with your first statement...the NFL should stop trying to be more powerful than the local court systems. If there's an arrest and conviction in local courts, then by all means...yes, I care.
