Report: Texans won’t trade for Tony Romo

If I were GM, I would be calling Jacksonville.
1) Jax has a vested interest in Houston not getting Romo. Same Division, Jax would rather Houston roll with Savage.
2) Romo is better than Bortles. Take away Bortles garbage time pad the stats and you have one of the worst QBs in the league.
3) I think Jax has the cap room to accommodate a $14M QB.
4) Jax defense will be better than Houston's this year in my opinion. Houston lost Bouye. Clowney is overrated and JJ Watt might be done. In that poor division, even a mediocre defense would look great.
5) Coughlin is in Jax as consultant and knows Romo well.
6) Jax is one healthy Romo away from competing in the AFC Championship from the looks of things early in FA.
7) Jax can kill two birds with one stone, keep Romo from Houston and replace Bortles with Romo.
8) The Jags have the 4th pick in the draft. Could be Fournette in the backfield.
9) If I were Romo, I'd rather be in Jax than Houston right now. Houston is a potential train wreck. The arrow is pointing up for Jax.

Don't sleep on the Jets just yet. The entire Jets base is totally demoralized with the whole team. I know Jets fans who are not even going to watch this year, let alone go to a game. That is how bad it is. Romo as a Jet would sell tickets. Yeah, Romo would not want to go there but, that is the way the cookie breaks. No release. You go where I trade you, play 2nd string to Dak, or retire.

C'mon man....he isn't getting traded to Jville for crissakes. He would veto it and rightfully so. Wake up and smell the java.

What?

I read right here that Jerry Jones holds all the cards and if Romo does not like it, well that is just too bad.

at this point, it would be.
should not be released until earliest june 2nd now.

It was stupid when it was first mentioned. It might be even more idiotic at this point. But make no mistake, if the Cowboys really intended to release Romo the front office is much more inept then even their harshest critics have imagined.

What is comical to me...

...I see a lot of the same faces...you know who you are...

...who are saying the Texans are automatically SB contenders with Tony...a lot of the same people....

...who have disparaged the man for years...

...I don't ask for much of people...but being internally consistent is something I demand...

...A lot of fraudulent folks posting the last few days.
This can't be overstated. The same guys who have said for years that Tony is a choker, has 2 playoff wins, cannot win the win or go home games, should now, at 38 suddenly have teams beating down our door to give us draft pics for him.

I dont think its that crazy. Jacksonville has a ton of talent and is in a weak division. Wether they can put it together or not remains to be seen.

I felt the same last year - then they proceeded to lay an egg.

sure, Bortles was a dumpster fire. Romo might see that

Time for Jerry and Cowboy fans to give up on the dream of getting something for Romo, at his age, injuries and contract, nobody is trading for him, cut him loose and move on!
Why ? What I truly don't understand from so many is what is the rush ? What harm is it to keep him until closer to the draft at the very least . Him being in Dallas still has no relevance to the team . It causes no issues . What if someone blinks ? It's not like there is this huge savings if we cut him now . It's not like this is causing any issues with the team? It seems the only ones with issue are the fans and the media who all want to keep setting these false deadlines .. I just don't get the rush

its already leaked that Cowboys were never gonna release Romo.

We shall see Texans....we'll see who has the last laugh.

now is the one time jerry should come out and say they wont release romo and will only trade if it is a good offer, otherwise
they will keep romo.
Even if it is a lie it would help, run a bluff.

Won't trade for him eh?
We will see how comfy they are entering the season with Savage haha
