Meh, I haven’t noticed anything different about his broadcasts.

Admittedly, when I watch Cowboys games I’m usually more focused on the action and not so much on the play-by-play and color commentary.
And non-Cowboys games are usually background noise in my house while other stuff is happening.
So in hindsight I don’t pay much attention to it, and don’t care to.

Makes me wonder how many folks actually do pay that much attention to whoever’s in the booth?

Nothing drives me more crazy than generic, vague criticisms without examples.

If you’re going to say that about someone you better come with the receipts.
Funny how nothing like this has come from any other source until now.

I've read stuff going back maybe a year on Romo and his broadcasting.
Think there's even a few videos online floating of the criticism.

Honestly, I don't watch unless it's Dallas or Miami on, and if they are playing at the same time then it's just Dallas. So, I don't watch Romo for 18 weeks of the year/ really pay attention to him in detail. Wouldn't shock me if he checked out after getting a second retirement contract.

That's interesting to hear, I wonder if he's bored with calling games and ready to move on to something else. I could he him thinking that way.
You stole my response..lol.. that's exactly what I think,I've listened to many games he called this year, and although I think he still does a good job,I also think he is bored, Tony likes competition, there is none in broadcasting,I think he should get into coaching..and by the way,I could be a little biased,I'm a big Romo fan myself.

Complacency maybe. Tony's doing it his way. It worked before.

as Mark Twain wrote:
Tom Sawyer: "Well everybody does it that way."
Huck Finn: "Tom, I am not everybody."

I was one of Romo's biggest supporters, and in honesty, I probably still am.

But I think things came easy to Tony, all-state basketball player, very good NFL QB, very good golfer, and then took the broadcasting world by storm.

I could see his slacking in preparation because of his confidence. I don't like to say it because I am such a fan of his. But it's easy to see it happening when everything you try in life seems so easy to accomplish.
Don’t forget rolling around in the sand with prime Jessica Simpson.

I'll probably be run out of town by some posters but I never thought he was that good in the first place. Broadcasting is more than knowing what play is going to be run next. To me he just left a lot to be desired from a broadcasting standpoint, and his voice is annoying.

Well, bricks are starting to fly, I guess it's time to board up the windows

I still prefer Romos and Olsens analysis, although olsen sometimes is annoying watching cowboy games specifically, but he breaks down the plays really nice. I guess they just want more of the prediction stuff from him, i didnt really notice any major flaws watching the AFCCG and usually enjoy romos calls

Olsen annoys me because he yammers on and on and wants so badly to make us think he is the smartest dude in the room. I can't handle that.

Parcells warned us about the anointing oil. Then remember directly after Jerry gave him that big contract he talked about increased responsibilities etc. At the time I didn't think much of it, but when hearing this it seems he may take some things for granted instead of putting in the needed work. Disclaimer, I was always a Romo supporter.

I've definitely heard more folks in media criticizing or making jokes about his on-air commentary this season. I don't really pay too much attention when watching the games, so I haven't really noticed a difference.

If I'm being honest, I am such a Romo homer that I would say no.

He sounds like the same high IQ football guy to me. But I only heard him call a handful of games this year.

What's your opinion?
Admitting to being a Romo homer is commendable. Wish others on here would be so kind to admit, then some of the posts might get a chance to be reflected upon when differing opionions surface.........instead of under attack. I liked Romo too.......but homer......no. Thanks Fastpitch Dad.

I don't make too much about TRomo broadcasts.......one way or the other. He's not bad.

I think you nailed it. These announcers have a disconnect from the average fan. Its because they talk down to us with spewing their football prowess..instead of talking TO US and keeping things simple, then letting the fan decide. Instead they behave Like narcissist's. Nance needs a guy in the booth that doesn't have to be the smartest dude in the room . Those are always the best . Summerall was like that.
