And I say your opinion is hypocritical because it's the same absolutely even worse because there's no way they picked up Brock Purdy or Tom Brady thinking they were gonna be good these guys were probably camp arms they thought maybe hey I like the way this guy looks all the while having over play exhausted three first round picks you don't get those back I don't care how good you are yes the 49ers front office has done a great job putting together a team that consistently competes for a Super Bowl but yet since 1994 also have not won a Super Bowl they're droughts longer than ours...

So again, I absolutely disagree that you can use it for one but not the other your own team that you claim to be a fan of you get to have bias for one and not the other and that is complete hypocrisy... I see you..
You are entitled to your opinion.

Burrow, Allen, and Stroud all fell way short on this threshold. Burrow took his squad to a Super Bowl his second season too. It is better to get more development and time and to build a young QB a good to great offensive line and a couple receiving weapons. Whoever his QB and head coach is makes a big difference too.
I don't know where the minimal bar is for the number of passing situations a college QB needs to see to develop properly, but I think this is a case where the more exposure and practice the better.

Less snaps would not be a better scenario to me. At least intutively it doesn't seem to make sense. More snaps are better.

Cooper Rush’s off 0season regiment is awful….Dude stopped developing…His legs look like Freshman year. Key is continued development. Rush always had the mental capacity but physically collapsed after 7-8 games…Rush would need a 90s style running game 1500-1800 bell cow RB tandem to last a season
Rush is not a "DAWG" never was, and never will be. HIs physique is no different than Tom Brady's, but he doesn't have the DAWG in him. So as Brady gets better and strives to build on himself and others Rush isn't progressing.

He is not challenging Dak for the starter's position. He still have a pea shooter arm, and I have never heard that he has built up his arm talent. I never hear about him attending development QB camps or being a workout warrior.

There is absolutely nothing about Cooper Rush that makes me think that if he ever became and accidental 17 game starter that he could win more than a small handful of games before DCs could gameplan him into oblivion.

Dude's not a DAWG, and most likely won't be...ever.

I got nothing against Skinny Dak aka Trey. Dude is a stud around the team. Great teammate and person.

The expectations being put on him by Dak Haters and the click bait traditional media is just setting the kid up for failure.

Will we give Trey the same latitude to develop and CARRY a Jerry Jones teams to the Superbowl??
Did you see the physique of Mahomes in the locker room after this years SB? He looks like a high school kid, not muscular at all compared to Dak who looks like a linebacker.

Here are all the QBs who've thrown for more than 1,300 college attempts where their college career ended in 2000 or later (Peyton Manning just missed the cut). 154 players. I highlighted those I consider NFL QBs of note (maybe missed Leftwich) and Purdy as an upstart. FYI, Justin Herbert missed the cut throwing 1,293 passes.

Trey already failed. He couldn't even beat out Sam Darnold to be Purdy's back up. He is not a good QB, and likely never will be
He had the best possible opportunity in SF. That team was staked across the board. It is not going to get any better than that.

I always favor the Bill Parcells rules for qbs

Here are the Bill Parcells rules for drafting a quarterback:
  • Be a three-year starter
  • Be a senior in college
  • Graduate from college
  • Start 30 games
  • Win 23 games
  • Post a 2-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio
  • Complete at least 60% of passes thrown
As you could see Dak fit the bill. Back in the day those first 3 was kind of big. Unless he was very talented.

Well thanks for taking the time to do that but this proves that there are far more guys that threw for over 1300 attempts that failed in the NFL,

so really it's not a good measuring stick in my opinion, yeah there's a lot of good names on there but there are three times as many bad ones....

500 passes between High School, college and the Pros should be more than enough........ right? :muttley:
The 49ers worked with even fewer pass attempts and came to the conclusion they made a mistake. Now, Jones is out to prove them wrong after a few more pass attempts were tacked on. Look out. Mad Genius at work.

Well 12 guys out of 154 that says gosling's little measuring stick is a total fail lol this just serves more proof that is very difficult finding a starting quarterback that can be Super Bowl caliber no matter what level of research you do on them there is no blueprint...

If the college game was like the NFL game and college football had the same parity as the NFL you wouldn’t see so many top college QBs go bust. A lot of these QBs are playing on real good college teams and are facing opponents that don’t have near the talent level. It’s huge jump from college football to the NFL.

Ohh please don't do that you just gave them credit for accidentally stumbling upon the last pick in the draft turning out to be good that's not a rebound that's tripping into something they got bailed out because they made a poor decision... So you can stay off your comments cause the team that made the biggest mistake what's the original draftees of Trey Lance they literally gave up three first round picks for the guy that is not strategic that is by accident.. That's like giving credit to Bill Belichick for getting Tom Brady in the sixth round and he turned out to be the goat that is absolutely inaccurate they were lucky they happened upon Tom Brady... It's not much different than some saying around here that Jerry was bailed out by somehow Tony Romo and Prescott working out and it wasn't by design that is the same thing that happened with the 49ers and the New England Patriots those were absolute accidents..
Ohh yeah I'm checking your statements because you acted like they shouldn't get Trey Lance for 4 rounder when the team that made the biggest mistake was the one who gave up three first round picks for him..lol I like how you try to slip that in there that that they made-up for it and that they rebounded no no that's not accurate at all...
Where is the offering tray….Preaching :hammer:

The Copium and comfortability amongst some Dallas Fans is that Cowboys can easily luck into 2 Franchise QBs over the next 30 years AGAIN!! :lmao2::lmao2:

I believe Purdy met all of those requirements.

Exactly there's no exact science or blueprint finding a quarterback is one of the toughest things in the NFL to do that's why 95 quarterbacks have been drafted since 2016 and only one of them has won a Super Bowl and only a few of them have even been to a championship game or a Super Bowl....

Literally the post we're talking about with Gosling saying that his way to pick a quarterback better is the ones that have 1300 or more snaps in college and it sounded good on paper but then Marcus rock showed us 154 quarterbacks going back to the year 2000 have been drafted or made it to the NFL that have had over 1300 snaps and I think we counted 12 that turned out to be great many of those that aren't weren't or absolute duds... Yeah I'm not sure how he's trying to give credit 2 the 49ers in New England for picking those quarterbacks that was an absolute accident there is no way around it it was not strategic they had no idea what they were getting...

The 49ers were out there struggling to find a quarterback for I don't know since 1994 do we wanna use 30 years trying to win a Super Bowl and they tripped over Brock Purdy but he's yet to win a Super Bowl either they went and got other people's picks I mean garoppolo and some of the other guys they brought on they were just trying to do what everyone else is is trying to replace their quarterback and they accidentally found Brock Purdy there is no doubt they had no idea what they were getting the man went last in the draft he might as well have been undrafted... I mean that's the same kind of luck that you've seen the Rams have when they paid all that money to I don't remember his name Trent green maybe he was supposed to be the starter Kurt Warner was just some dude from like the European league turns out he wins a Super Bowl and went to another Super Bowl nobody thought that...

So yeah getting rid of Prescott thinking that you can do what the rest of the league has yet to be able to do like the Browns jets and Broncos who gave up trying to draft guys and then they overpaid guys where they had to give up draft picks and giant contracts and they still didn't work out.... So it was so easy to find that guy who's capable of just carrying you to a Super Bowl ,yeah good luck with that...

If you mean the team that gave up three first round draft picks for him ?

you mean that genius the one who actually gave up the most and then gave up on Trey Lance that would be the 49ers, has nothing to do with the Cowboys getting a guy that now has already been on the bench in the NFL for a LOW fourth round pick... y'all can make fun of that all you want it's just a move that may or may not work it's not a big deal nothing to see here because some other team gave up three first round draft picks for him... I bet that happens far more often than this thread is making assumptions or whatever that post from Gosselin,

I mean Daniel Jones did he have a lot of passes if im a betting man, I mean what was that dudes name over there Mitch Trubisky, I mean I don't know I just know that the NFL on a whole overreach for quarterbacks all the time and I'm not sure if this 1300 pass mark makes any sense or not...

I'm not saying it isn't interesting but Prescott was a fourth-round pick that had to start day one when he wasn't even drafted and 4th on our depth chart... the man was rookie of the year which also by the way played very well in the Green Bay lost in the playoffs we lost because the defense not because the guy didn't throw 1300 passes...

so anybody saying he had a problem reading defenses, I would say that's probably most quarterbacks coming out of the NFL that were not in a pro-style offense and have not thrown a lot of passes...

On that note anybody wanna look up how many passes Jalen hurts through because he sure didn't look good and Justin fields both have didn't look good the first two years until their team overloaded the offense with talent And Tailored the offense a better fit of running quarterback..
It was a completely stupid move.

Traded him at the end of camp. First year was a complete waste of time.

Now we have to pay $5M in an attempt to figure out what he is. Cowboys organizational knows better the the Niners organization? I think not.

His contract expires same time as Dak's. Very unrealistic that Trance plays this year. What are we going to learn in pre-season angainst vanilla defenses and rookie players? That he can run.

Why did the Niners bring in Darnold at $5M, when they could have kept Trance for $1M?

They wanted insurance if Purdy was not 100% ready to go. Trance was not a good insurance policy.
