It might have been - I’m not sure what leeway the cops in Frisco have with that. But I still can’t blame them. Rico had a choice, and he made a bad one.

I don't know how all of the rest of you feel, but keeping a guy like Gathers is the problem with this franchise. Too many druggies.

My guess is the NFLwould lose a hell of a lot of good players if every one that sometimes smokes pot were somehow “weeded” out. That’s not to excuse Rico - he made a stupid decision. But pot use in the NFL isn’t isolated to just a few guys.

You are correct. It is amazing how many of these guys choose weed over a career. And there are so many that say weed isn't addictive. Maybe not in the traditional sense of addiction, but...

It's more than druggies as you say, and I don't have a problem with people wanting to smoke pot....

The problem is the selfish behavior leading to suspensions bc they can't put down a recreational drug and that behavior hurts the team bc they get suspended....thats the issue I have

Yeah it’s really simple. It’s on the banned list so don’t do it. If your going to its really simple. All players get random tested 1 time between April and August every year. Put the bong down and stay clean until your tested. You pass and you can smoke the rest of the year if you want. But he smart and do it at home and not in public or get busted with it. It’s not rocket surgery.

It is not about what I want, it is about the culture that you build within an organization. It seems like we wait with bated breath every year for several players on our roster. Gregory had a good preseason, but does that mean he is reliable? Rico Gathers is still an experiment, yet he made the team. I don't get it.

Is there ever a good time for Goodell to suspend anyone? I didn’t think Zeke would be suspended for 6 games but last year I said if he was, I would prefer it to be at the beginning of the season and I was torched. Then when he dishes out the suspension, people complained he didn’t do it earlier.

Point is, unless you can hand pick the games you don’t think we’ll need him then it will never be a good time, nor should it, the guy is an idiot.
