I think I would take a chance on Rivera. He's young and hungry and wants to put his sig on a team or D and I believe he'll get it done.

As mentioned the base is Lovies Tampa 2 version. They do mix things up a little, mostly a man 2 vs. N.O. and tonights blitzing.

Zimmer put together a better game plan for the Colts than Rivera has to this point.

I sure do, Rivera isn't married to the tampa-cover-2, commands respect from his charges, and from all accounts, is aggressive as a coordinator

He's gonna come to Dallas and wonder where the speed is.

Kind of hard to get momentum when your offense has 3 total first downs and you're on the field for most of the first half...

Ware, Carpenter, AKin, Watkins, Newman, Burnett, Hatcher, that's speed
Half those guys don't start. We are not really a 'speed' defense.

To answer the original post, yes I would like Rivera as a DC.

i don't want him if it means scrapping the 3-4 after we put two years into it. a change also means you have to move your best player (WAre) to a different position. And I don't want him if JJ forces the 3-4 on him and he is not capable of running it (Zimmer). Is a true 3-4 DC to damn much to ask for?

you mean the position that Ware played FOR 4 YEARS in college? C'mon. The 3-4 was Bill. That was his thing. As much as he'd like you to think we've drafted all 3-4 personnel, we haven't. We can easily make the switch back.
