Rivers will be traded next year according to him . Rivers agent is Jimmy Sexton
also Parcells agent. Look at how many Sexton clients we already have. What do y'all think ?

If Drew Bledsoe keeps playing the way he is there is a chance we will have bledsoe for at least 3 years. In that case i dont see rivers coming here.

I personally don't see a guy in Rivers who has shown more at the NFL level than Drew Henson. It feels a little bit like a "grass is always greener at the bottom of the other team's roster" kind of approach to building a team. There's no evidence that Rivers is not a bust. Why not just use the draft pick and draft the QB you want?

and I think trading for him would be awful because he would require at least a 1st. I would be more in favor of trading the house in 2007 or 2008 when Brian Brohm, the Louisville QB, enters the draft.

(even though I like the QB bus-driver approach.)

It depends on what we need to give up.

yeah, so far i like the way drew bledsoe has been playing but last year vinny testaverde had a good season start, you know i pretty good qb rating, but by the middle of the season it dropped. hopefully drew bledsoe can keep this up

Maybe I missed stories from SD, but has there been an article stating that Rivers was doing so well in training camp that the Chargers are going to have a big decision on deciding the starter?
I know Brees is doing well and that is why he is the starter, but anything on Rivers progression?
Don't know why, just can't get a handle on Rivers the pro. For some reason, I just don't know if he will be a Peyton Manning or a Ryan Leaf. I know about his college experience but that doesn't always translate to pro status.
Thoughts?

Yeah but, last year Vinny didn't have JJ running for him until it was too late.. Not the case with Bledsoe. JJ makes a HUGE difference...

Not happening - the future at QB is Romo - JMO

He won't beat Bledsoe out next year anyway and I really see no point to throwing $ and Picks at Rivers.

VT did not win when JJ came back.

Bledsoe is winning and JJ has yet to really go off. This bodes well for Both JJ and Bledsoe and the Cowboys!!!!!!

SD will trade Rivers. With Brees, they know what they have ... as long as he continues to play at a top level this year. Brees will stay.

Rivers will go to the highest bidder. Hopefully, it's not us.

if Romo is our future, we're sunk

the only future Romo has is a career clipboard carrier

but with the way Bledsoe is playing, I'd say unless he's injured he's our starter next yr as well

Depends on how Brees performs this year, but San Diego will have to pay a HEFTY price either way. If Brees does end up doing well, then he is due a big contract plus they take a big cap hit if they trade Rivers.

I personally don't think the Cowboys would bite especially with all the qbs that might be available in the draft and with the investment they have in Henson.

Unless he's there in the late rounds we won't look at him. The focus is on character. Too many question marks given his suspension, etc.

Makes no sense to me...for what we'd have to give up for Rivers, I'd prefer to simply draft a guy in rounds 1-2 and let him learn behind Bledsoe. My problem with Henson and Romo is that I don't see either of them as an attractive alternative.

I think Bledsoe will be the guy as long as Purcells is still here ... which I think will be another year or two.
