I think Bledsoe will be the guy as long as Purcells is still here ... which I think will be another year or two.

Drew won the starting job and is reinforcing it on the field. He will start here for the near future no matter who the coach is unless he's a JJ puppet..... And we've been down that road.

Romo is our future (and present) backup QB...nothing more or less. Too pass on someone like Rivers (speculation) or any other 1st round talent in favor of Romo is rediculous.

Won a Super Bowl and played in the NFL 15 years. Thats not shabby.

Salt would be calling him a Hutchinson, baseball player 3 years out of football, who never could cut it in the NFL.....

You might want to slip in an "I think" or "In my opinion" every once in awhile.

You talk like there's no questioning your authority.

We're all speculating. There's no guarantee Purcells or Bledose either one will be here next year. While he's obviously played well this season, Bledsoe is very capable of playing poorly for stretches at a time.

When a new coach takes over in a couple of years and Purcells retires to his new house in upstate New York with his young girlfriend, I think an aging Bledsoe will be replaced.

I dont think the future of the Cowboys at QB is on the roster. I was talking to some of my Jets fans on another board and he said Rivers said he wanted to be the started for the Chargers in 06 or he wanted to be traded.

The Bolts are going to be $16 million under the cap next year, and I seriously doubt they want to spend about 65% of that on the cap-hit they would take when the non-prorated portion of Rivers' $15 million signing bonus accelerates as an immediate cap-hit.

This means that Rivers will have some control over where he lands, should the Bolts decide to trade him. The Bolts will need Rivers to pay back a fat portion of his signing bonus in exchange for a trade, or else they'll just keep him on the roster until his salary matches the cap-hit they take for trading him. Rivers can make it up by pre-negotiating a deal and signing bonus with whichever team wants him. If Bledsoe is still in place with the Boys, I seriously doubt Rivers would accept a deal to Dallas. The whole point is he wants to start somewhere, not sit behind an established starter.

Romo is at best a Dave Krieg, Jim Zorn type QB. Undrafted as rookies had decent carreers but never were able to win the big one. talented yet flawed just enough.

Lets not forget that Julius Jones had serious character issues until his junior year when he got his act together-

If Vick is available when we pick then we would be well advised to take him- Marcus has made mistakes like many young kids do- he will be a fine citizen - his brother has advised him just like Jones' bro advised and counseled him

Jim Zorn?

You can only hope Romo is anywhere close to being a Zorn. The only problem he had was playing for a sorry team like Seattle in their early years.

There's no way Romo is a Jim Zorn.

I believe Bledsoe has one or two years of quality play left. Marcus is a good college qb but I don't think he will fit well in the NFL. San Diego is not going to trade away Rivers. We are going to have to find a qb somewhere in the draft...if not this year then next. There is one qb worth drafting in this years draft and that is Leinart. If we make the playoffs what do you all think it would take to get him or is it even possible?

Rivers will be traded next year according to him . Rivers agent is Jimmy Sexton
also Parcells agent. Look at how many Sexton clients we already have. What do y'all think ?

If Bledsoe plays like this or close to this the rest of the year he will be here at least 3 years and maybe 5. The QB of our future might still be in HS.

As for Rivers. No thanks. Dont wanna QB with no mobility and average at best arm strength and also a worse thrown motion then what Drew Henson ever had.

Well trading for Rivers has been in my sig for a little bit, so obviously I'd be for it. I don't necessarity see it happening though. And with the way Bledsoe is playing right now, I see it even less likely to happen. That said, I have seen a lot of Bledsoe in his career, and have seen him start hot to only cool way down later...obviously I hope that does not happen though!

I now think if this franchise wants to stay (or get) ahead for tomorrow, we need to bring in another young qb through the draft or trade today. Romo or Henson have a shot I suppose, but let them compete with another young gun and let the best man win.

Romo keeps beating Henson out -

Nors has a few things that always characterize his Romo posts.

1. Lets ignore the facts (lets ignore the fact that Henson was backup for many games last year and was the only backup who has ever seen a regular season snap)

2. Lets ignore the immediate versus the ultimate. Just because ROMO is the backup right now has nothing to do with the long term future plans regarding Drew Henson. Jerry Jones IS ON RECORD saying that they will treat Henson LIKE A FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICE. Have you EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER heard him say anything remotely close to that about Romo?

3. Nors thinks if he says Romo is the future here enough times, it HAS TO COME TRUE.
