I hope Hos that your source is not the same guy singing the Proctologists praises.

Free was nothing for 2 years and suddenly the light came on- not often that happens with O linemen but the way we have been so lousy drafting O line the last 10 years we were do for one to come through.

No one can really tell about Brewster since he did not even make it to camp before he got injured. That is why I am a little leary about claims he can be a RT right now or even soon.

Any way you want to look at it we need to get some interior O line guys soon anyway. Actually ANYTHING TO GET RID OF THE PROCTOLOGIST (I still think he has Lynn Scots pictures of Jerruh with a horse or something- as lousy as he was at guard and barely OK at center I see no other real possibility)

I think the difference is Wade. Also Houck. I think we're moving to lineman that are more agile at a cost of strength, instead of overvaluing strength like we have in the past. Easier to get a big man strong than teach him to dance. I look forward to drafts now more than I ever have because I have 100% confidence in our staff. That's what gets me excited the most about this offseason.

Free was nothing for two years? He didn't play except for preseason, when he looked pretty good.

Don't act like a light came on. There was just no way of knowing until he was put into the starting lineup. Yet, some people just had it all figured out, didn't they?

I certainly do not have 100% confidence in our staff.

Camp means nothing OGT, as Bennett and more then a few others have shown. Free did not play at all, was not even ACTIVATED for two years. So THAT is why I said he was nothing for two years. Because he was. Until a player shows something in a regular season game he is NOTHING.

Your reasoning is rather quaint, but you do have a point. Lineman usually take a few years to develop as the talent level in the NFL is quite a bit better than the college level. I agree with the trouble we might be in if we need to develop a lineman for 3 years to get a decent replacement at RT. I disagree with the "NOTHING" comment but that's an entirely different point.

First of all, I have more than one source. Second, all of them know more about the Cowboys personnel than we do. Yes, I hate to tell you, but that includes you too.

I know you like to think you're some kind of OL genius and want to spin the comments you made on Free. But I'm never going to buy it. My source on Free was dead on right and you were dead on wrong and continue to be wrong.

I don't like Procter. I think that is pretty well documented. So if I am sharing something positive about him it means I am doing so because I want the fans in here to know about it. You might want to pay attention because the last time I offered insights about who they liked on the OL you did yourself wrong and painted yourself into a corner that you still can't get out of.

The team likes him. They have tendered him 2 years in a row. They see him in practice, film sessions, and workouts as well as games. They know more about him than you, me, and the rest of us put together. They place a high value on intelligence. They believe it can transfer to performance. If you choose to ignore everything positive that is said about a player you don't like then you're no different than the fans you bash for dissing Notre Dame players at every turn.

Welcome to the real world Burm. I hope you can stomach the ride.

Talk about arrogant Hoss look in the mirror. Where were your sources 2 years ago? So what if they sound good in the last year. Whoopie. Considering how the Cowboys HAVE STUNK developing the O line for 10 YEARS- until last YEAR ONE TOTAL- and you wonder why I frankly doubted your source. YOU GROW UP. Free turned out good- FINALLY. WHO was saying he was all that great until the end of camp last year? WHAT were your sources saying before then HOSS?

You get our of sourts because I did not believe your "SOURCE". Untill Free played late last season HOSS what REASON would I or anyone else have to believe your "SOURCE". And if there were more then one what were they saying before Camp last year.

2 years ago. Where were they? Roy Williams to Dallas rumors ring any bells? Have you bothered to pay attention to the Draft tips I have been sharing for 5 years?

Sorry that I can bring information beyond my opinion. Sorry that it offends you. Okay, so I'm not.

We have the same source!

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122269&highlight=trade

Why wait til the draft to use these picks on an unknown? If it means increasing our SB odds ever more, then Ill throw a 1st and 3rd at Detroit for Roy Williams and watch defenses chose between T.O., Roy, Witten, Barber, Feix, Crayton ect.

:( What was I smoking though?

A voice of reason, thank you...

Proctor is and has been a work in progress.

Romo
Austin
Free
Crayton

All players that needed time before they shined.

Not saying Proctor will/would ever play up to those listed, but he is obviously considered an intelligent, affordable backup, with upside, that continues to improve.

All aspects of an NFL roster must be managed and evaluated, that includes 2nd/3rd string, solely evaluating on 1st team grade leaves you extremely thin....ie.. see Commanders.

I would agree that Proctor looked quite bad in 2008 when playing LG. However, the moves of the front office do seem to speak to them seeing Proctor as a part of the future. It always seemed like it was Preston or McQuistan who were hanging on by a thread and it was Proctor who was dressed on gameday.

They seem to see something in him.

He certainly was but I think people misunderstand Proctor. He is a backup center and was forced to play guard because our oline depth was and still is awful.

Dear lord I hope that Iupati falls to us.

Since last season was pretty much a redshirt for Brewster here's what Scouts.com said about him coming into the draft last season...

http://cfn.scout.com/2/857289.html

22. Robert Brewster, Ball State 6-4, 325Very quick for his size, he’s a very durable, very reliable pass blocker who did a little of everything well for the high-octane Ball State attack. He needs to get himself into a weight room and go from being big to big and NFL strong.

Even with his athleticism he’s not a pro left tackle and could end up at guard, but he could be a nice backup for a long time and a decent prospect at right tackle with a little bit of work.

CFN Projection: Seventh Round
-----------------------------

I didn't see this quickness at all on film...

I see a young Nate Newton.

And I think a young Nate could have played RT.

He lumbers.

He practically got owned and gave up a sack on every snap. Dude looks weak as wet paper...

he has very quick feet and quick hands and he has a good base.

Anyone who looks at that video and doesn't think that is a quick 325 pound man has no clue what a quick 325 pound man looks like.

This drill is heavily biased towards the defense and he held up quite well and his feet looked okay to me. We won't know much more until he plays in the preseason.
