He practically got owned and gave up a sack on every snap. Dude looks weak as wet paper...

That's a 1 on 1 drill against a coach acting as QB that a) isn't stepping into any kind of pocket, and b) isn't throwing the ball.

I wouldn't use a video from his college years to pass judgment on his ability at the NFL level, especially after learning from veterans and coaches alike.

If that was the case, nobody would've ever known a player like Tom Brady would be worth anything.

The only thing any of us know about Brewster is he is a project and hopefully it pans out.

The Cowboys will try him at RT rather than OG. That means Free is the future LT unless Brewster does not pan out at Tackle. They think he will.

This means Brewster has moved one step closer to being a bust. You know it's bad when they don't think a guy can compete at the position he played in college.

They always announce they are going to move players who aren't athletic enough to play inside or quick enough to play LOT to RT. Marten got the same press, if I recall as did out of shape Larry Allen in 2002.

Most of Brewster's college career he played RT. From day one of minicamps they had him at RT. They still have him at RT.

All technically true, however they drafted him with the intent of playing him at guard and discovered he was not suited for it.

So I amend "he played in college" to "they drafted him to play".

I'm not sure where you got that. It's not true. A lot of draft gurus claimed he had to move to guard but the Cowboys wanted to see if he could play RT first. RT is the more difficult position to play.

Depends on what your athletic skill set is and what your offensive schemes are. Also how the defense lines up effects the difference between the 2 positions.

Guard can be a tough position too.

If you aren't a strong physical guy than Guard is not your spot.

Evidently Brewster isn't either one of those things at this early stage in his career but if he improves on those 2 things he could eventually end up at LG.

yes, larry allen is representative of all gaurds in the national football league.

That is exactly what I said, as a matter of fact I was directly insulting larry allen because I hate that jerk!

You are far too clever for me. I apologize to the board for not hiding my hatred for larry allen better.

Guards have to be athletes too. A lot of times if they have no one over them they will have to cut off linebackers. Not to mention all the pulling they do on traps, counters, and screens.

Other times they have to go up against the biggest baddest guy on a teams defense.

Guard is not a fun position to play and if I had my choice i'd rather play RT any day over guard.

I'd also rather butt heads with the top DE's in the league over the top DTs.

Pathetic attempt to get back at the guy after you were clearly called out for a ridiculous comment.

no it wasn't, and when you can point to one guy and think it proves a point it only proves you don't have one.

Additionally, since no one here has a sense of humor. I misspelled gaurd while calling gaurds stupid and centers smart. Meanwhile I played center my whole football life.

even more to the point, I was speaking more towards growing up as a football player. Seeing as how everyone was speaking about how he couldn't play this spot or that spot. I was mearly intimating that since he played tackle he should be able to play gaurd because the requirements are generally greater for a tackle than for a guard.

I said all that with that one phrase. And like most everything I say it went completely over heads and I get blasted for saying something I never said.

here is where he has a point if I said "all gaurds are stupid" that's a stupid comment, and one I didn't say. But you think I did, and so did he. And that is your problem not mine and it's not my job to tell you all this.

They never put him at OG.

The reason many people think Brewster would be better suited at OG is because he's seriously bow-legged, and it kind of effects how quickly he can shuffle his feet out of his stance and turn to re-direct the pass-rusher. Or is supposed to at least, but the Houck raved about how quick his feet were. So that doesn't seem to be an issue for him.

I'm sure in time he can develop but in this video he's getting pushed around by the college level. Some people around here are acting like he can replace Colombo at the "NFL Level" in the not so distant future instead of suggesting we hedge our bets by drafting another tackle in the early rounds...

Should have played Gaurd.
