I wish somebody could explain to me why... the Procter hate-fest in here didn't come from nowhere, he stunk it up badly when he was forced into the lineup...

Seriously, buddy, do the guys you talk to have any explanation for what the Cowboys are apparently seeing that none of the rest of us can see??

nude pictures of Jerry in compromising positions??

Ducasse was mentioned too. Who knows how far we'd trade down? I think Iupati is there at 27 and is the pick.

Please, God...

Personally..I think Brewster is just another JAG O-lineman that we drafted and will be a lifetime backup.

Bash me if you want. I have history on my side to back up that claim.

And of course, history is ALWAYS an accurate predictor of the future...

I'd be more impressed if you had some concrete reason for thinking that, as far as I'm concerned saying "history is on my side" just means you don't have any real reasons for holding that opinion...

Or perhaps Jerry is the manager of Free Reign, and wants to keep the money rolling in... you just don't break up greatness, and with the dollars he shelled out on Cowboys Stadium, he probably needs the cash flow... ...

:D

As much as I hated his play at guard, he did all right the times he was forced into action at center.

I don't really think it's a case of Dallas not wanting to better the position (what we wanted to do in the second round of last year's draft shows that), but of being comfortable enough that he can step in at center, make the line calls and not be a major liability.

It doesn't appear they reached that comfort level with Preston last year.

Try beating the Eagles three times without him.

You don't win the NFC East without him completely dominating Steve Smith on Monday Night Football and shutting DeSean Jackson down three times last year. That was a hat trick.

Newman matches up with that little, green troll (AKA DeSean Jackson). Jackson is one of the most dangerous deep threats in the NFL.

I'd hardly call that a "three year" decline, with all due respect.

I'm sorry, I love Newman, but you are TERRIBLY overrating him.

He's had safety help with top receivers all season, it's not like he had to do it 1 on 1 like Revis.

Yeah they talk about how intelligent Procter is a lot. He is a huge guy, with a lot of strength, and intelligence. They're willing to gamble on that.

I don't get it, but the chance of him being off this team are pretty small unless we go all OL.

Ya, Pouncey at 27 is looking like our pick

He can play OG/C..adding solid depth and eventually starting in a year or two.

Pouncey it is.

Welcome to the Pouncey bandwagon. :)

The Cowboys will try him at RT rather than OG. That means Free is the future LT unless Brewster does not pan out at Tackle. They think he will.

Where did you see this Hos?

I'm not sold on him being a RT. His pass blocking was suspect and he didn't have the greatest strength in the world, on that right side he'll be facing some tanks. From his interview it sounded like he was working hard though so maybe he really beasted it in the offseason. You don't catch up from a torn pec in less than a year though, especially a professional athlete. Their decision to try him out at RT is definately interesting, they surely know more than we do about him. He must have shown some nimble feet to go from a guard prospect to a tackle. I guess we'll get a more conclusive look at him in preseason as to his aspirations holding down the right side.

Wow...that changes a few things. Maybe there will be 3 Olineman from last year gone. I would have thought that it would be risky to go that far, but it could happen.

I doubt very much Brewster will replace Colombo in his first year of NFL action, espeicially if he has to learn a new position.

RT isn't new to Brewster, but I don't think he'll start this year

Its all a predraft Smokescreen. Brewster ends up being a guard after all is said and done. We go Golden Tate round one and Vladimir Ducasse round two.

Could be. We'll definately go OL in the first two rounds, and I think it'll be entirely on who's available with our first pick.

You could be right.

A lot of NFL team executives check Hostiles posts regularly for their Cowboys updates. He's kind of a big deal.

Could be, we know they liked Unger last year. Nothing's changed at the interior positions since last years draft, so he could be on the radar screen.

I sure hope so.

I see a young Nate Newton.

And I think a young Nate could have played RT.

Newton did start at RT for us for a couple of seasons. 90 & 91, and he was pretty good at it.

Since last season was pretty much a redshirt for Brewster here's what Scouts.com said about him coming into the draft last season...

I'm sorry, but citing scout.com? About a smaller-school lineman? Really?

Gosselin's final ranking had Brewster the #81 prospect in the draft, not some spare seventh rounder. But what do actual GMs know compared to innernet gurus?
