Why should he undergo surgery, which come with it's own risk (albeit a small one) without a guaranteed contract?
No, but the Cowboys giving him an insulting opening offer did not exactly scream honest negotiations either.
You also don't have to worry about lowballing him. The amount Dallas would pay would be determined by the parameters of the trade. Right now, it would be $12 million for one year, which I can't see Dallas being willing to trade, but if Miami absorbs around $4 million of it, a one-year, $8 million deal is better than the Cowboys could get any other bona fide pass rusher for. The question then becomes how much compensation does Miami want.
MCollins, TCrawford, CCovington, AWoods, DRoss, Draft3 would have DT covered pretty tight
DLaw, Quinn, Taco, DArmstrong, TCrawford at DE would be nice
I don't know if it has been said before, but could it be possible this sudden interest in Quinn has to do with Crawford's situation?
It may enable Dallas to save a $100m contract on Tank and get picks in return for a bridge player. We may also get some salvage value out of him in terms of a comp pick later on.
And the intrigue continues. Sounds like anything can happen but if you're Miami, good luck trying to extract much money from Stephen!
It's funny the extremes some posters will go to in defense of a player they like.
Dad, quit spending my inheritance!

they probably have enough cap space and it wouldn't take a very high draft pick to get QuinnSaints have no cap space and limited picks as is.
If they want to send a 2nd for Quinn by all means, go ahead
I'm actually hoping they trade him. Lawrence has not negotiated in good faith. So I'd take a bleep him attitude and look to move him or force him to sit out a year of his prime.
I agree Risen. You could see it coming for two seasons. It is what it is but I agree, I would seriously listen to any and all offers on him. This is a really deep draft for DLs. Deepest I can remember in years, maybe ever. This is a great time to have a few extra high picks.
