Right, he can't make unilateral decisions, but he can express his personal opinions, apparently.
Sure, with the owner's approval. He's their ax man. Something unpleasant needs to happen, he takes care of it for them. Concussion protocol, addressing off field behavior, rules to cut out injuries, all that stuff. The owners can fire him at any time. Last year, they liked him so much they extended him and gave him a raise.

People here are acting like his stating a dislike of the play means he'll ban it. Maybe it will get banned, but not because he wants it to be.

With this kind of thinking the NFL would have banned Lombardi's 1960's Packers Sweep.
