So when would they get it back? It seems to me that it should be immediately if he can't fulfill his part of the agreement, which he can't.

Rebate is on a game to game basis. Always been that way.

Also, given the league's efforts to rehabilitate rather than simply punish, they don't want to facilitate cuts in drug cases. They want the players with the team as that support helps avoid relapse

JG said he would be there, while Stephen said yesterday that he wasn't sure. Can everyone get in the same page at least! 3 voices all the time!! We should name them, JJ,JG, and SJ, the 3 stooges going forward!

I still have no clue why Stepen Jones feels like he has to talk every week. I mean he has his own radio segment like he's the head coach or something.

When your owner makes excuses for a half *** player like ronodlo that Jerry does. Not good folks not good. You end up 8-8 every year.

Gotcha. Thanks for that info.

The league rules would be that if we cut him now, we don't recapture the bonus. If we cut him now we don't get any portion of that 750k back. We'd get a rebate of close to 500k on the cap. If he is cut post-suspension. So this isn't them "working on it." More likely it is them deciding whether 500k of cap space is worth a spot on the 90 man roster. If Ro just decides to retire or fails another test, we'd be in line for the entire 750k.

This is probably the first step in us telling him not to bother to report as we will cut him when the suspension ends.

And I do think 500k to your cap is worth the 90th spot on the roster. Now if we have a spate of injuries and need some bodies that might change but that's what I'm seeing right now.

Appreciate the clarification. That's what I get for listening to Jerry!

What incentive does he he have to show up? Does he get minimum wage ($10/hr) for the time he is in camp? Free food and free gym membership? He isn't getting paid for 10 weeks to start the season. How many of us would show up for work if our employer was not allowed to pay us for 10 weeks, and all we could do is show up and lift weights, watch film, teach co-workers how to do my job, and eat. Or stay at home and do what you want? I doubt Rolando McClain likes camp to begin with. And if he stays away he can sleep in all he wants and fish all day.

Hmmm ... go to camp, wake up early, watch boring video, and answer media questions everyday. Or wake up whenever, fish whenever, and do whatever. Yeah, tough choice.

Pretty sure part of his contract and I would bet a solid amount would be about him participating in TC.

I was probably the guys biggest fan when he joined the cowboys. I love the physical hard nosed style he brings to the MLB spot. Unfortunately he's a freakin unreliable player. I say cut his a** already. Too many second chances!

Or, we could fine him and force a decision on his part. He'd basically run his earning potential to zero.

Cut him and he takes home a nice reward

think oil wells. Jerry hits pay dirt on McClain in '14 and proceeds to milk it until it dry. Its dry now Jerry...cap it.
