but damn, given the rest of the country rips him after a bad game (yet it was like crickets yesterday), is it necessary that we do it all the time?

I know that we can be very sensitive at times and this has been rehashed over and over but I just think he is ripped completely unfairly.

Now the new flavor of the month is the Seattle Transportation Company bus driver playing for the Seahawks. Headlines now have him as an elite QB, he is beyond criticism and well dang nab it, he's a really nice guy who helped find a dog.

Um Romo is nice, he helped a guy change a tire, he has won us games and lost some. Yet when he is asked to be a bus driver, he is ripped, see they won when they didn't let him make a mistake, yet the Seahawk bus driver is lauded for being one.

Things that make me go grrrrrr

Romo having a bad game week 1 was apparently bigger news than starving children in Africa and war in the Middle East combined that week. I couldn't believe how big of a deal it was. It was quite pathetic.

He had a nice game yesterday. I'll take the W over a 500 yard day attachet to an L.

Me too but it seems Romo can't win. He has a great stat day and loses, see he can't win when it counts. He wins but has a bad stat day, ripped for the bad day. No one mentions his streak of games with TD passes either.

Romo doesn't get ripped for being a bus driver. He gets ripped for being an inaccurate interception machine with a noodle arm who audibles out of running plays in the red zone. At least that's what I heard here last week............

Romo needs to just be cool and let the team carry him. In his presser he keeps trying to convince himself that he is throwing well and nothing is the matter, but everyone with eyeballs know Romo is not well.

So just stay calm and feed Murray.

Imagine if Romo played as poorly as Eli played all of last season.... Oh the humanity!

bear hunting?

I was giving comic relief to what you OP addressed, and agreeing with your premise.

Bear hunting is challenging at the best. Your prey can change things around and start hunting you. One has to be keyed up and fully alert for that challenge.

That contrasted with the lame 'game' that some have of chunking insults about from hidden points in the internet...and choosing lame and continuous targets of Tony Romo, play selection, or Head Coach in Monday Morning Quarterback fashion...around here, at the mere dropping of a hat.

Understand now?

You'll see improvement from Romo week to week, he's still trying to play catch-up from all that missed time this off-season.

Romo needs to just be cool and let the team carry him. In his presser he keeps trying to convince himself that he is throwing well and nothing is the matter, but everyone with eyeballs know Romo is not well.

As a player, you have to have that mindset, or the battle is already lost. Romo himself knows he's off right now, just as well as his team mates, but I bet you they're confident he'll get it back. I mean could you imagine Romo saying he needs to do better in his press conference, yada yada yada when we WON the game? That wouldn't be a good look at all. It would come across that he's more worried about his stat line than winning games.

Well if we are going to make the playoffs, Romo has to get better. His play in the first 2 weeks has been subpar. Even beyond the stats, you can tell he is not right out there. Who knows how much he is really hurting. Many of his throws are terrible. He under threw a lot of passes yesterday to where the receiver had to break stride to catch the ball.

Yesterday was fine because we were playing an inept QB and offense but I worry about the games where we are going to have to put up points and came from behind. Romo does not seem to be built to do that right now. And who knows if he will be this season.

I figured it was the typical attack on Canada as some backwoods West Virginia where we live in igloos, hunt bears and eat polar bear meat

Romo's put in serious work for 8 years leading this offense and generally making this otherwise bad team decent.

So naturally, 2 games into the first season of his career in which he DOESN'T need to try winning games by himself, he's getting ripped by the haters for taking a backseat and letting the running game dominate.

"Waaah, why'd we give Romo that contract!? We clearly have a great run game AND defense now! We could get by with a young, cheap QB!! Stupid Jerry!!!"

Absolutely hilarious.

He wont get ripped by mua if we win. He had a nice quote yesterday:
"It's about winning," Romo said. "We've done the stat thing plenty of times. It's about winning and if our football team can continue to run the ball like we can, I'm all for these types of games and that's exciting when you have the opportunity to have a team that can do that."

Usually, in a long season, it's a futile effort to compare continually compare to the playoffs when drama of each upcoming game is where that slides towards each and every week.
