If winning was all that mattered and stats did not, Tim Tebow would have a job right now... Tony has always had good numbers, it's the winning part he's had a problem with...

Troy Aikman made the Pro Bowl in 1996 after a 12 TD, 13 pick season. He was recognized as a winner, and never put up stats- especially TD passes- because of some guy named Emmitt. So the stat part I agree on. As for Tebow, he's a bad example since he's a quarterback that can't throw.

There is a huge chunk hole in that road traveled. Trying to compare champions of different eras and even progressive years, is a marshland scenario in pinning down the function of a team with attributable statistics. Today, a general direction can be applied, but what caused that to happen is pinned to direct team skills and opponents of that period.

It takes a lot of direct experience to even feel true developments and team swells...in inexact art that revolves on a ton of direct applications, both on team and player levels.

Nothing I write has anything to do with how that game ends up.

It seemed to me you were comparing Romo to Wilson. Wilson may only have to drive the bus, given the talent that surrounds him, but I would argue he is better than what is asked of him.

He is lauded far more than he should be. Of course he doesn't make mistakes, he is never asked to do anything of significance. I also hate the "he's a nice guy" line. This from a fanbase that also lauds the Northwest Mouth.

He's more than a bus driver he's put up 52 TD passes in his first 2 seasons with over 1000 yards rushing. Some seem to think Seattle would be the same team with any QB and they're wrong. All anyone has to do is look at the numbers/passer ratings of Seattle's previous QB's through the years. None of them were as efficient or could make near the plays Wilson does with his arm and legs. Seattle has never had a playmaker at the QB position like Wilson.

Has Eli had a bad game yet this year? How about Matt Ryan?

I guess they're doing pretty good so far.

You're so far up Romo's backside, it's hard to hear you. You're dreaming if you don't think Romo had a great team around him in the Owens days. We're 8-8, I want ZERO excuses from him or his fans.

So now the guy who was one of the NFLs biggest team cancers was great for a QB? You really bought that Owens crying "He's my QB"?
Just messing with ya. Romo was never surrounded by a great O line. If he had a decent Oline the defense stunk. After Parcells look at the coaches, hell look at the management. Whens the last time there was a complete team coaches included? Because that's what it takes and you know that.
If you don't think he had to carry this team along with just a few other teammates I don't know what to tell you. It has nothing to do if I like the guy or not. It's facts.

Playing QB for a professoinal fooball team and winning a Super Bowl is significant, no matter how you spin it. I get your frustrated by the differneec in how Romo and he are portrayed, but he is still a good to great QB and those lack of mistakes are worthy of notice regardless of the talent around him.

One QB Romo reminds me of is Archie Manning - another big fish in a small bowl. Archie, had he instead played for the Cowboys, Raiders, Steelers, or Dolphins would have won a SB. Some will argue Tony is not up to the level of Archie, or today's Cowboys are not as bad as the Saints in the 70's, but it's the same general situation.

I disagree, on premise. Tony Romo is a sounding board for previous failures at other points on the field. Get defenses responding to a combination of receivers and runners, and Romo comes in out of focus and picks up with his pretty darned good, skills.
