Unless Romo leads this team deep into the playoffs at some point,(even if he does) he will always be criticized by some of our fans, the media and fans from all other teams.
I'm pretty convinced we could win a Super Bowl with Romo and he would still get ripped by the media and most Cowboy fans.

So far this season, Romo has not looked like his usual self. But, to me, the surrounding cast looks better. I believe Romo will gradually crank it up - I may be wrong... but IF that happens - the Cowboys could be one of the surprise teams of this season.

Romo doesn't get ripped for being a bus driver. He gets ripped for being an inaccurate interception machine with a noodle arm who audibles out of running plays in the red zone. At least that's what I heard here last week............

lol

Something really wrong with Tony, anyone can see it. I was worried he would not be right. He looks worse then he did when he played with broken ribs ☹

Romo's put in serious work for 8 years leading this offense and generally making this otherwise bad team decent.

So naturally, 2 games into the first season of his career in which he DOESN'T need to try winning games by himself, he's getting ripped by the haters for taking a backseat and letting the running game dominate.

"Waaah, why'd we give Romo that contract!? We clearly have a great run game AND defense now! We could get by with a young, cheap QB!! Stupid Jerry!!!"

Absolutely hilarious.

You had yourself a like until you mentioned Jerry.

I just find it funny that Romo gets crushed for the bad week 1 but I am not hearing too much about Colin Kapernick's wonderful Sunday night game. That's a QB I know people have tried to claim is better than Romo and yadda yadda yadda. The usual jazz.

Romo is going to have bad games. It happens. It's called playing football. Some people clearly don't understand that and it's why you get the people who go to the extreme when ever he does have a bad game. It's best to just laugh at people like that at this point. There is nothing else you can really do in regards to them.

I predict Romo looks much better this week. He may not throw too much but the throws will look better.
He got better as the game went on Sunday. Just getting back in football shape.

Tony still doesn't look right to me. He's not making the throws he usually makes, and he doesn't have his usual elusiveness in escaping the rush. I don't know if this is mental or physical.

I figured it was the typical attack on Canada as some backwoods West Virginia where we live in igloos, hunt bears and eat polar bear meat

LOL! ... You don't see that you just did exactly what you accused him of doing. My gosh that is hilarious.

Too funny.

Let me tell you something, I don't feel sorry for a man making over 100 million dollars. I guarantee you, if you paid me that, my *** would live at the practice facility. I would work my butt off and get in shape in the off season, and I'd be able to read a defense like no other. Otherwise, you can take 1/10th that, and do what you're doing now. I'm sorry, I just have no sympathy for anyone who is a professional and all they have to do, is their job. Now if he can't perform his job, then it's up to management to move him out and put someone there who can.

Ware couldn't do his job, so he was cut. Same goes for everyone, including the golden QB.

but damn, given the rest of the country rips him after a bad game (yet it was like crickets yesterday), is it necessary that we do it all the time?

I know that we can be very sensitive at times and this has been rehashed over and over but I just think he is ripped completely unfairly.

Now the new flavor of the month is the Seattle Transportation Company bus driver playing for the Seahawks. Headlines now have him as an elite QB, he is beyond criticism and well dang nab it, he's a really nice guy who helped find a dog.

Um Romo is nice, he helped a guy change a tire, he has won us games and lost some. Yet when he is asked to be a bus driver, he is ripped, see they won when they didn't let him make a mistake, yet the Seahawk bus driver is lauded for being one.

Things that make me go grrrrrr

Due to Seattle having such a great defense Wilson isn't put in many situations where he has to win games or could possibly lose them. Although Seattle lost on Sunday Wilson didn't have a turnover. Hard to pin a loss on a QB when they don't have a turnover. Wilson is in his 3rd season and only has 19 career int's which is pretty remarkable for a young developing QB. In his 34 career regular season starts he only has 9 losses. He led Seattle to the playoffs as a rookie and won a SB in only his second season. Wilson was a 3rd round pick who in only 2 seasons far exceeded everyone's expectations. The Seahawks were hoping he would develop into a solid backup and he's developed into one of the best young starting QB's in the league.

Romo has a lot of games put on his shoulders and it's led to a lot of turnovers and a few meltdowns. He can't carry a team and maybe Wilson can't either but he hasn't had to. The Seahawks are built in such a way to where Wilson doesn't have to have his A-game every week for Seattle to win. It's easy to see why Wilson doesn't receive much if any criticism he's a young QB who's played very solid football and is leading one of the best teams the NFL has seen in more than a decade. We're only 2 games into the season and Romo already has 3 int's compared to none for Wilson. Only figures that Cowboy FANS can't understand why Romo receives the criticism he does and Wilson doesn't receive any.

I don't know. I think he's made the teams look better than they were. Now that he can't at the moment, I'm glad the FO has gone the direction they have in recent drafts. I think he will get better as the season goes on IF he doesn't take to many brutal hits. The pass protection hasn't been that great so that's a big if IMOP.
You're so far up Romo's backside, it's hard to hear you. You're dreaming if you don't think Romo had a great team around him in the Owens days. We're 8-8, I want ZERO excuses from him or his fans.

Excellent post. Romo got slammed every time in the past when the coaching staff (foolishly IMO) but the entire weight of games squarely on his shoulders by going pass happy. I've been screaming for more of a running game because I knew it would take pressure off him. Using the run more does not mean we're abandoning the pass or that Romo's lost all his abilities. It's abundantly clear his less mobile than before. Yes, he did stink up the place in the San Francisco game. But people seem to like to blow stuff up out of proportion. There are still 14 games left to play. Romo didn't play much in camp or the preseason; now, perhaps the rust is coming off. He may be fine from here on out. IMO even if he fully returns to form with every bit of his mobility in tact and is making great decisions on the field, we still should run the ball a lot. When you have a quality O-line that can make run holes and running backs who can exploit them, running is a good strategy. Under those conditions, I would run a lot even if we had Tom Brady.

Knowledgable fans of the 49ers are just sick that they've suck so much money into a QB who has never shown he can me more than a 1 read and then take-off running passer.

In many ways, they were screwing by timing into signing a QB they didn't feel 100% great about to a huge money contract just like Cowboys fans were about Romo -- although for different reasons. Obviously age and mounting wear/tear are the main reason to worry for Cowboys fans.

This. Our UPS guy is a Niners fan and said the honeymoon is over for Kap with the fans.
