Usually, in a long season, it's a futile effort to compare continually compare to the playoffs when drama of each upcoming game is where that slides towards each and every week.

I love the playoffs but I also hate them if you know what I mean ;)

Romo doesn't get ripped for being a bus driver. He gets ripped for being an inaccurate interception machine with a noodle arm who audibles out of running plays in the red zone. At least that's what I heard here last week............

You forgot his contract.....that is the other thing that get rehased. Especially now because he is coming off a second back surgery. Like no one else gets a big contract and gets hurt. If I'm not mistaken, he put up good numbers last season. I love the people saying we should have never paid him, like Jerry knew he was going to need surgery or something.

So if we follow that logic, do we pay Dez now? He's taken quite a few shots.....just sayin.

I have no criticism of Romo yesterday. He played a good game and didn't make any mistakes. It's too bad the Cowboys didn't play like this when Romo was in his prime. I'm not sure if he's alright. But the Cowboys needed a balanced offense all along.

I figured it was the typical attack on Canada as some backwoods West Virginia where we live in igloos, hunt bears and eat polar bear meat

Canada is a good reference for my comment, due to familiarity of topic. I don't have a single thing to say negative on the general level of hunting or fishing.

If I have something negative to say about Canada, I usually just shut up...this was a little humor that I felt you would be familiar with.

He needs to be credited for not forcing the pass and taking some sacks to prevent bad plays.

agreed but I recall seeing here, see he can't get the ball away, he is just taking the sack,

damned if you do, damned if you don't

Unless Romo leads this team deep into the playoffs at some point,(even if he does) he will always be criticized by some of our fans, the media and
fans from all other teams. No one is going to remember our staff and GM couldn't get a complete team around a franchise QB.
Tony's running out of time and it's a real shame.

Exactly. We could have wasted the best QB we will see for a while given the track record given between Troy and Tony.

Tony's had good teams around him. He wasn't ready when he had those teams around him. Hopefully we can do it again, and this time he will be ready. I don't think this team is too far away.

Fans want players to be loyal but most fans are the most un-loyal bunch there is. 4 reg season games ago Romo was keeping the teams playoff hopes alive on a broken back. Two games into the next season he's a worthless bum who should retire even though we're 1-1.

I don't know. I think he's made the teams look better than they were. Now that he can't at the moment, I'm glad the FO has gone the direction they have in recent drafts. I think he will get better as the season goes on IF he doesn't take to many brutal hits. The pass protection hasn't been that great so that's a big if IMOP.

I don't know...as far as art forms and music goes, I'm not into a Tony Romo folk ballad.

I think its a fair point on that 2007 team. They were good enough to go much farther than they did. As has been repeated often here, another year with Parcells would have done him a world of good.. Instead Wade "Anything Goes" Phillips comes in and we get Cabo and the gunslinger.

That said, the undefeated Patriots fell to that Giant team too, so maybe just wasn't their year.

The teams got steadily worse as Romo slowly figured things out. Last year was arguably Romo's best from a maturity standpoint, but by then he had the leagues worst defense supporting him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Romo take the contract while knowing his back was messed up?

I agree, look at the game Kaepernick had for SF last night, 3 int's plus a fumble and yet it seems nobody talks about what a choke job that was. And it's certainly not the first time he's choked, int on the last play of the SB from the 6 yard line and 3, yes 3 turnovers in the 4th quarter of the NFCCG last year, but hey, he's not Romo.

Knowledgable fans of the 49ers are just sick that they've suck so much money into a QB who has never shown he can me more than a 1 read and then take-off running passer.

In many ways, they were screwing by timing into signing a QB they didn't feel 100% great about to a huge money contract just like Cowboys fans were about Romo -- although for different reasons. Obviously age and mounting wear/tear are the main reason to worry for Cowboys fans.

Romos not as mobile anymore which is kind of expected. Hes rusty and still isn't seeing the field very well. But if this online is as great as people think they need to make up for that and give him time. They have not been that good In pass blocking these last two games.
