It doesn't matter if Dez dropped it. Yeah, that made me mad, but there's no reason to throw it twelve yards down the field on 3rd and one yet always seemingly have your receivers run four yard outs on 3rd and six.

That's idiocy on the coaching staff.

This......

I don't care if the play works or not. It's not a good play there.

We had some questionable 3rd down play calls yesterday. I didn't have as much of a problem with this one in particular, because I like Dez in that coverage against that defender and it was an aggressive call. But I was shaking my head at the calls that killed at least two of the drives myself. And that's something I rarely do.

Has Dez become TO? Only catches half his passes?

If so, we can find better hands.

Well, he did get his money so the next few years will tell if he follows the trend in Dallas. I'd say he's off to a good start in making us regret his contract within two years.

Honestly. With all the latest locker room shouting, monkeys, being out of shape...etc etc...

I am worried about all that. The Cowboys have a lot invested in this sensitive little pri-madonna.

Talented as you can get, but I wish he would just shutup and play football.

We all understand youre "just passionate". But you come off as an immature, self involved, "Mouth"; Sort of like a TO........I dont put Dez there yet, but there are certainly similarities....

I didn't like it either. I don't view a 20 yard back should throw as a high percentage play on 3rd and 1 with the game on the line. I'd much prefer a high percentage shorter pass designed to get the 1st down and extend the drive.

Yeah, God forbid we call the old QB sneak that works 95% of the time in the NFL with a yard or less to go.

Your completely wrong!

If I am a play caller and the play I call is going to hit an open receiver in the hands beyond the first down marker I am going to call that play all day every day my whole career.

Would you do different?

That's not really the point. The point is to play a high percentage play - pass or run - and not one that isn't the easiest to catch - a back shoulder fade. It's certainly a catch Dez should have made, but it's not a high percentage play that is completed in general, especially coming from a QB who just started playing with the team and you have minimal rapport with.

What good is the OL , if we can't pick up and 3rd and less than one, by just running . Even a QB rollout and keep or QB sneak would have done it, when NE can do it with TOm freaking Brady why can't we use it with Matt cassell ???

Romo Didn't Like The Call========Well Jimmy Johnson always said don't put yourself in a position where the refs don't decide the game. Go out there and beat the crap out of the other team and be way ahead at the end of the game !!! Look at the scores of the 2 Super Bowl games Jimmy Johnson coached. There were mistakes by the Cowboys, but it did not make any difference because the Cowboys were way ahead by the 3rd quarter and dominated the game.

4:30 left in the game. 3rd and 1. Cowboys call time out and discuss the play to run. Cassell, Linehan, Garrett, and Romo in a group discussion. Romo shakes his head and rolls his eyes and walks away. Cassell goes back out to throw a pass Dez dropped. If you recorded the game, look for it. The disgust on Rom's face was obvious.

I didnt see that but there was a time when they showed Romo and I swear it looked like he was about to cry, wish I had recorded it so I could post it on Youtube

He was probably thinking " we can't the ball at all, and none of the receivers are in the game today, so what the heck, might as well".

To me this is just another Cowboyzone judge the play call but the results of the play thread.

If your going to say that they should "consider the QB and his rapport with the receiver" then the call was perfect because Cassel hit him right in the hands.

We always complain here that the play calling is too predictable when the play doesn't work. When we do something unpredictable and it doesn't work we say we should have done the predictable thing and run between the tackles.

If we could do that play over and I know we could hit Dez in the hands like that I would do the same thing again every time.

The entire problem with that play was that Dez dropped the ball! Not the play call.

That is quite a stretch. He could have rolled his eyes at any sentiment. All I see is someone looking for someone that agrees with them in you.

Yes but they know they cannot do what Dez does but they think they can do what Garrett does. You see it in all sports. Football is one of the worst though because for the most part fans cannot tell you what the coach actually called and/or did outside of clock management. In baseball, decisions are much more cut and dried because of how the matchup is distilled.

Instead, they insert their oversimplified nonsense and interpretation. My rule of thumb is if you cannot describe the blocking assignments and route combinations then you should not make claims about the playcalling cause you don't know what was called but that never seems to stop anyone. "We have no way of knowing" should be an okay disposition but it is a struggle.

I know Romo/Garrett seem like they are good friends and I am sure they have a lot in common but Romo has to know by now that he is on borrowed time. I wonder if part of him wants a new staff in Dallas.

Remember when Romo caught heat from constantly changing out of the calls made by either Garrett/Callahan? I would say there is some evidence to support that claim.
