Then maybe someone will offer us a nice draft pick for him but regardless he's not coming back next season. If you're thinking QB controversy based on a good game by Romo in a meaningless game you can forget that.

yea Romo is done. (in dallas) i was only stirring the pot some. ive been on the dak train all season.

The first 1 1/2 games were healthy. Everybody ( I assume including you) knows that. The team was desperate and brought him back early. How, otherwise would anyone explain a collarbone breaking at the exact same place.
It got a bit ugly after he came back, no doubt. But no way he was healthy after the return.
And then to have him play 2 games in 4 days with the second being vs a team that ended up 15-1....well, that was suicide if you're not healthy yet.

I am, however, in the camp that doesn't really see the upside of playing him at Philly.
He'll be fine, but I the conditions (players he's playing with and weather in Philly) are not what would be there in the playoffs in any games.
Live reps are good, I guess.

But what the heck..
Man up , Tony. And he will.

Bottom line he is 37 with a bad back and he was good 2 years and 3 broken bones ago and oh yeah makes 25mil, good luck getting a trading partner. I assume you can understand that is ridiculous.

I see the ROH a little differently. There are players that meant a lot to the Cowboys that wont make the HOF. Meredith and Drew Pearson are 2 that came to mind. I dont see them as diluting the ROH and both deserve the recognition it provides

We will just agree to disagree then. There isn't a right or wrong answer to this. My own view is that there are already 21 members in the ROH. That's a fairly large number. Unfortunately the horse has already left the barn. If I was starting a team from scratch I would be more selective. That would leave a lot of terrific players on the outside but that's the trade off for making induction that much more special and significant.

Not even sure what you're talking about since I mentioned nothing about trades or Romo's age or contract.
But whatever. I'm just ready for a new year's weekend.

Dak Prescott will start for Dallas (13-2) and can set the NFL record for wins by a rookie quarterback. Romo and fellow backup? Mark Sanchez are also expected to play.

Earlier in the week, the plan was for Sanchez to get the backup snaps behind Prescott.?All three quarterbacks took snaps in Thursday's practice.

Coach Jason Garrett on Friday would not say whether Romo would play. He said the coaches will meet Friday and finalize the plans Saturday night and Sunday morning in Philadelphia.

Garrett said Romo "absolutely" wants to play.

Romo plays great.

Dak loses the our first playoff game.

Full blown QB controversy in the spring.

We get better ratings for spring training than Monday night football.

They all had wonderful careers, just not HOF careers. It's really a matter of where you want to draw the line. It's like the Congressional Medal of Honor. Millions of men and women have served our country with bravery and distinction. Limiting the Medal of Honor to only a select few doesn't diminish the accomplishments of those who never earn one.
You have it backwards.......a team's RoH is a notch below the HoF level for the whole league

this is basic stuff

I understand how it's done for most of the league. But the Cowboys are the greatest team in the league and therefore should have a higher standard.

Even if they do, being a member of the HoF is terrible requirement

Not sure Jerry is making as many decisions as he once did
Maybe those around him pulled a Manzell and told him what was really happening

Well alot of times when its a guy like Jerry at this point, the guys that are around him are not even talked about.

Ask Howard Hughes, if you could.

I really can't wait until after the game where we analyze Romo's every snap and create multiple double digit threads about him. Gonna be awesome. :oldcouple:

Or much better, Dak is the first rookie QB to lead a team to a Super Bowl victory (with many more to follow).

Romo rides off into the sunset. No QB controversy whatsoever.*

*(A loss in the first playoff game? Really? Man, what Romo fans wish for in lieu of team success is mind-boggling).

Check teams Ring of Honors/Ring of Fame/Wall of Fame - the Cowboys standard is by far the highest as it currently stands.

I know, I was just making up something cause it would cause chatter in the outside world.

But if it happened, it would be every old journalist dream.....and the clicks on freakin twitter.
