Being a competitor is one thing. But that also can hold the rest of the team and organization from moving forward when the time comes.

Let's see how he looks when he gets back. I mean if he comes back and plays 13/13 games he's back next year no questions . If he comes back and plays 2 games and it happens again that's probably it. Favre and Peyton were nuts too. They could barely move by the time they retired.

Look I don't care if Romo misses 1 game or 5 we aren't repeating this crap from last season. We aren't going to depend on any one player. It's BS and Garrett knew we made that mistake last season. The mantra all offseason has been NO EXCUSES. This team will be prepared for this situation watch. We are going 10-6 this year with or without ROMO or DEZ.
this post and your username do not compute

So what's the latest official news?

As there is with any injury with this team, there is no "official" news. Just a bunch of conjecture intermixed with some optimistic nonsense from organizational leadership.

The funny thing in all this is when Romo comes back and we start winning a few games you'll be right back on his nuts again.

Okay. You be sure to let me know all about it then.

And then tell us what happens after those "few games"? When he's hurt again and this team is again shuffling the deck because of it? What then?

But both were Iron Men in their careers before then. Not comparable to Romo's injury history.

Romo has the same kind of blind optimism that the Joneses have.

Why not? Some huge pay days coming up.

Enough's enough. Time to get off of this injury roller coaster.

At this point, I don't much care for what Romo has to say about it. He says one thing, another thing happens.

Favre yes , Peyton no. That's not the point. The point is Romo will play until he can barely move.

Peyton missed few to no games for the vast majority of his career. I know it's nowhere close to Romo's 27 games and counting.

And Romo seems smart. He knows he has an owner who thinks he could play football from a wheelchair. Keep those checks coming.

lord, just imagine if Dak didn't come on like he has and Moore never got injured.
Terrifying, isn't it? If Moore was healthy all camp, Prescott would be getting third team reps and zero meaningful exposure.

I'm not saying that's the real motivation, but at this point I don't care. I'm not listening to what Romo says in the subject. He always thinks he's going to be fine. And that's never the case.

Let's hope you are right.

We all waded through literally 1000 posts last season argueing the nature, severity, and length of both Romo's and Dez's injuries.

We had competing views from Doctors, Surgeons, Specialists, and armchair clinicians. Comparisons to similar injuries (Julio Jones for Dez and Aaron Rodgers for Romo) were constantly referenced.

Many heated arguements here on CZ ensued.

In those two cases, generally speaking, the top end of injury range ended up being the case and with both Dez and Romo, it turns out both players weren't fully healed.

Let's hope that's not the case this time around.

Not the same kinds of fractures.

Dez's foot and Tony's shoulder would be unstable if not completely healed. This recent fracture represents no instability.

Peyton missed 17 games , pretty good but not an "ironman". Eli is more of an ironman than Peyton. I was comparing competitive drive not injury history. Peyton continued playing while his body wasn't in optimal condition because he was an ultimate competitor. Romo will do the same because he is also an elite competitor. Do you understand that now ? If not sorry I can't make it any clearer.

Oh well, this is what it is. Dak will get a chance to show if he's indeed the QB of the future. He's looked good this preseason, but I think we should expect to see some rookie mistakes while he's starting. If for some reason, he doesn't make them or the team does enough to overcome them and we're rolling when Romo's healthy, then I think we should continue to roll with Dak until he shows signs of faltering. If nothing else, that would give Romo more time to heal completely.
