If you watch his mechanics though you would see the various flaws in his game and why he isn't a legit NFL Starter....I guess you have to be more than an armchair QB type of fan to understand.

I have been scouting prospects for years and I know a blue chipper when I see one, Romo is not one of them.

Yeah, no kidding. Those poor mechanics have resulted in a 65% completion rate in just about every game he has ever played for Dallas, including the pre-season. If that's poor mechanics someone should have taught them to Henson. :D

You should seriously consider applying for a position in the Dallas Cowboys organization. They could seriously use an expert like yourself.

What was it the Cobra said?

"Sitting on your couch watching a game on TV is not scouting"?

So what flaws does he have in his mechanics?

You continue to throw out generalities.

It's like me saying "We can't start Bledsoe because he doesn't win the big game, folds down the stretch and doesn't see the whole field."

He has won big games before. He has directed comebacks. Maybe not every time (who does?). But it's a blanket statement, generality-based assessment.

Much like you're doing here with Romo.

Dale,

He's a chain-jerker. Don't fall for it.

Man you are so full of it and have no clue as to what your watching and now lying about being a scout and knowing what you see? give me a break.

I never said I was a professional scout, but I know a lot more than most run of the mill football fans and my expertise usually isn't taken for granted.

I was right about Henson being a bust, Merriman being the better prospect over Ware, Carpenter being a bust, etc etc...that's just with the cowboys.

I've also scouted players from 31 other NFL franchises and soon I will start posting scouting reports in the appropriate forum.

If you watched last night's game between the Colts and the Patriots you might have thought you were watching Tony Romo at quarterback for BOTH teams.

Yep, that's right!

That quick release; movement and command in the pocket; throwing the hand out, pointing when changing plays, pinpoint passing...all illusions of Romo.

Don't laugh, but Tony's new cologne endorsement might just be named...Illusions of Romo!

Yo Mickey, Mosley! You heard it here first!

Me so Ferny, Me so Ferny, Me so Ferny...you Loves me long time!

You are an idiot!!!

Take it to the bank, unless we get Bledsoe back into the lineup and provide a spark for the offense I don't see us winning more than 7 games tops.

Seriously who on the schedule do you think we can beat with an inexperienced greenhorn like Romo? Even the Cards and Bucs are going to give him problems now that they have more film on him.

I'm less worried about Romo than the rest of the team.

I do think that, as teams get more film, we'll see some teams get Romo to bite on some things. I don't think it'll be enough to make him suddenly drop a player who can't move the ball and is turning the ball over with consistency. But every young quarterback is going to have some valleys. He'll have some. But, the more I see from him is making me believe his valleys won't be all that deep.

Why? He responds well to adversity, it appears. When he makes mistakes (overthrows, turnovers) he comes back firing -- and it's not like he's made that many mistakes to begin with. I like his short-term memory.

He doesn't seem prone to making the same mistake twice. That's why I'm not worried that when teams get more film we'll suddenly see him shrink into a pea-sized quarterback.

I saw evidence of this yesterday. He throws the screen pass in the dirt. He can't find a receiver and he throws it over T.O.'s head on the sidelines as an obvious throw away. He's not forcing things like most young QBs do.

Based on your post you have no clue as to what your talking about. Your upset that Bledsoe has been benched and now popping off with some stupid hair brain posting. Romo is hitting his passes at a 67% clip in the last 2 games he is not staring down WR he is avoiding pressure and making damn good throws on the move and not making big mistakes that are seen by several players with a hell of a lot more experiance than Romo. This non-sense your pulling is complete and utter garbage with a big ars agenda attacked to it. Please save your scouting report on the 31 other teams if it is garbage like what your posting now.

Argh!!! I put that idiot on ignore and I come to this thread and see people have quoted him. He is a certifiable idiot. Please ban him or quit quoting him. The dude makes up things in an attempt to get a rise out of people and repeats the same nonsense over and over and never backs up anything.

Don't be so sure about that.....after all it's not like we are talking about a 1st rounder here. Flash in the pan QB's like Romo are a dime a dozen in this league.

He may be able to dink and dunk with effectiveness, but when the bullets really start flying can he make the big throw like a true franchise QB? I don't think so....

We were 3-2 with Drew as a starter, down 5 points at home when he was benched....sorry but no matter what way you spin it you lose, I bring facts to the table.

Ahhh...

Why does the NFL say that Bledsoe has a "3-3" record this year?

You know before I actually put him on my ignore list I considred not doing it just because some of his post were so ridiculous that they were funny.

Then he came back with a post shortly thereafter and it was not the least bit funny, but plenty ridiculous. So I pulled the trigger and put him on ignore.

First and foremost - let's hear your qualifications. Come on now - if you are going to dismiss most of us as mere "armchair QB's" and put yourself on a pedestal you have to lay out whatever it is that puts you up there.

Second, you made a simple, broad statement about mechanics. An expert such as yourself should be able to tell us what specifically about his mechanics is flawed to a point it renders him incapable of being an quality QB.

Third, tell us what makes you so much better at judging talent than NFL coaches and scouts. After all, NFL coaches and scouts have been missing on prospects for years, with some low rated QB's succeeding and some highly rated QB's failing. What gives you the ability to make indisputable judegements and why aren't you working for an NFL team.

Fourth, how do you "scout" players?

Stop making a fool out of yourself.

guess what his ypa is? 8.24
If you think that is dink and dunk you might want to go check out the other top QB's in this league and see what their ypa is
I just owned you
