Romo is beginning to worry me

Over the past two games he has become too "gung-ho" for my liking. He is trying to fit balls into places that he has no business throwing too, and is starting to do what he did at the end of last year and just throw it up anywhere when he can't escape pressure. It seems to be that he almost has too much confidence in his arm, because no one outside of Manning could have completed some of the throws he has made lately, especially against Buffalo. That 4th quarter INT at the goaline was simply an impossible throw, for instance.

He needs to get back to remembering that a sack is better than an INT and that he doesnt have to make a spectacular throw every down.

Actually... he started throwing the ball without any oomph in the beginning... maybe a little "gunshy" (not gunslinger) from Boofalo game... but then he started throwing with authority.... we started to sync....

He had less than one regular season under his belt when he played the bes team in football... we were in it for 3 1/2 qtrs.

Not bad for a guy with that amount of real game experience if ya ask me...

Remember, Tony Romo is an incredibly good golfer, which requires intense concentration and focus. He was close to qualifying for the U.S. Open.

He is no a slouch, nor does he back down. He handles pressure quite well. Don't be fooled by the Buffalo game. He can put that behind him with ease, and he did.

I thought that's exactly what he did a) on the 4th quarter TD drive in Buffalo, and b) in the Pats game.

I agree, Romo needs to 'drive the bus' a little bit early in games. We have a really good defense and one of the best punters in the game. In most of the games we have left on the schedule, we should be able to play for field position, move the chains, control the clock, and make enough plays to win.

I hope seeing Tom Brady in person has disabused Romo of the notion that he needs to be as good as Brady or even Manning to win games. We just need him to be Tony Romo, and we'll be OK.

Now that you mention it, we should really consider a punter in next year's draft. McBriar didn't have his usual good game on Sunday, and I am really getting concerned about it. Not having legitimate competition in camp may have made him soft. Jerry should have waited before he gave him a big contract.[/sarcasm]

God forbid someone points out a flaw with Romo.

Yeah, Romo is the least of our worries. But that INT was TERRIBLE and the game was far from over at that point. Hes done this a couple of times; trying to make some throws he shouldn't.

Yes, Romo is still playing damn good.

But he'd be even better if he toned it down a bit from time to time.

He is NOT the problem...an offense that cannot run the ball to relieve some of the pressure off of him AND the defense is the problem. Gurode, Davis, Columbo...they were all given bonuses to be able to allow this team to improve in every phase of the game...Adams and Kosier were also signed to big/decent bonuses at the time...they need to play better against the elite teams.

Hey...well...you did notice that the second mondaynite 53 FG was a good bit shorter than the first. The first would have been good form 60+, that second might not have been good from 57! I'd prefer a little more consistency.;)

And while I'm at it, whats up with this right down the middle crap. Doesnt he have enough confidence in his accuaracy to slip one in just inside the post!

Romo should be benched and let Brad Johnson become a starter.

:laugh2:

In his first start against Belicheck no less. I guessing he does better the second time around in Feb 08.:)

I luv when the ball is in Romo's hands and I like what he's doing for us.. The guy is a playmaker with tons of confidence. He also prepares well and leads the team. I have absolutely no problems with Romo or his play. Its been a loooong time since we've have a very good QB around here. The guy is 12-5 as a starter. I'll take that all day...

I get dibs on starting that one.

His next miss he feels my bus tires.

What a stupid, dumb thread.

Romo played very good. Anyone who was at the game saw that when someone became open Romo found them.

He is one of the best QB's in the league. PERIOD.

So stop with your Romo evaluations because they SUCK.

Indeed. Before the game, Patriots fans were posting the stats of elite quarterbacks in their first game against Belichick. It wasn't pretty, which is why most of them were predicting three or more interceptions thrown by Romo. As it turns out, he didn't throw one until the game was out of hand.

Yep. We can all be proud of the way our QB played.

We should be. He's a top 5 QB in this league.

This is the dumbest thread you could have possibly posted. Seriously, you could have posted a video of yourself eating dog**** and it would have been better than this.

Ban yourself.

I think we should trade Williams and Romo, and start rebuilding after that humbling loss To the Pats.

Man You guys are killing me.

Best start in years and I have to read this crap.:bang2:

Hmmm...I wonder if QC is available? He did lead the Cowboys to a 10 -6 season and a playoff game?

What is wrong with people? Is it Halloween, or what?

Really, the 30 yard slant had more basis in reality than this topic.

Just when I think he can't be any dummer... he goes and totally redeems himself!

j/k HH... sort of. :p:
