Romo looking to become King of the Road

Just as Sanchez isn't the greatest QB ever, he merely has the best winning percentage among quarterbacks with at least three career starts (or possibly tied with others).

I found another quarterback who had a career winning percentage of 1.000 with at least three career starts -- the great Ed Rubbert, who also has the highest passer rating by any quarterback with at least three career starts.

That's funny because I just watched "The Replacements" last night and Shane Falco's character was (loosely) based on Rubbert.

The guy played for the Commanders during the "replacement" games in 1987. They beat the Cardinals, Giants, and Cowboys in that stretch in October of that year. Rubbert only attempted a total of 49 passes over that span but threw 4 TDs and 1 INT. His YPA was 10.9! Which boosted his passer rating to 110.2.

That was it, his entire NFL career was those 3 games. I don't know why they didn't keep him on the team or why he never played again.

You're mistaking holding a record with being the best. Romo wouldn't be the best ever if he wins Sunday, he'd merely hold the record for best road winning percentage among quarterbacks with at least 15 road starts. Just as Sanchez isn't the greatest QB ever, he merely has the best winning percentage among quarterbacks with at least three career starts (or possibly tied with others).

By the way, since you asked, Montana went 14-6 in his first 20 road starts. He lost his next two road games. So Romo is ahead of Montana after the same number of road games, and he will remain ahead of him for at least two more road games.

Good stuff. Now THAT's what I'm talkin' about. I knew it wouldn't be long before you had these numbers up.
