It doesn't make sense to construct a roster with Romo as a backup. Teams don't pay massive money for a backup quarterback. The only way I see him staying is if Dak falters dramatically...

And the thin chance of trading him this offseason becomes almost a zero chance the following offseason when he's 38 years old.
Even if Dak falters, we can all agree that Romo's shelf life is rapidly running out, and other teams, not as enamored as we are with Romo, know this.

I agree that if I had to bet the house payment, I'd opt for Romo wanting another venue from which to operate.

Then again, another thought... free agency comes before the draft... and any team anxious to pick up Romo is almost certainly also going to be anxious to draft a QB high... right?... so, if you're Romo, do you have any second thoughts about the possibility of a repeat, and having another situation arise like the Eagles had this past off-season (Bradford/Wentz)?

Then again.... still another thought... er, a question actually...

Does getting to SB51 and winning it all make it just a little more likely or just a little less likely that Romo asks for a trade?
