As recent as last year, I thought Dirk was a choke artist, but this year, he proved to me and I think a ton of Mavs fans that he's the real deal, and if Cuban doesn't ditch "Haven't done jack ****" Donnie Nelson, he would've stolen a possibility of Dirk getting a championship.

Year after year, we've done very little to put a super star next to Dirk "of age" and this is a huge mistake.

Romo, on the other hand, this guy is still young but he's not getting off to a proper start by throwing away a golden opportunity last season. The problem Romo will have is, he won't be given the amount of time Dirk was afforded, football players come and go quickly, and the pressure to win in the NFL is HUGE.

My suggestion to Romo is, either you can pump up your credentials in the Celebrity world, to prepare your career for life after football, or you can buckle down and come out ready this season, because all eyes are on Romo this year.

if following Dirk's lead means playing soft, then I hope Romo never plays like Nowitzki.

I see you know as much about basketball as you do about football.

Hey morons Tim Duncan won 1 ring without Ginobili and Parker that was 1999.Thats season was a lockout and was shortened to 50 games to start with. Here is who was on that team.Tell me if the supporting cast isnt good.

Sean Elliot=consistent All star
David Robinson=HOF Center
Avery Johnson=Clutch very good pg
Steve Kerr=5x NBA champ

Dirk doesnt have much help.

Has Stephen Jackson given Dirk his nuts back? Or are they still in the jar on Jackson's coffee table?

The point is Dirk has will, heart, drive, cares about his team, and would do anything for a ring. I hope Romo becomes like this or at least starts showing it. He tends to give up in the clutch and December. I dont know why.He also says stuff like "o well if this is the worst thing to happen as in a loss then im cool" thanks tony from a zillion fans. Pressure is on you now Romo time to come thru without a HOF wr.Hope you can handle that pressure.

I'm sorry your expectations of Romo are that unrealistic.

He was being honest when he said that, and I had no problem with it. He's 100% right... losing a football game, while devastating at the time, doesn't compare to losing a loved one or going through something like Rich Behm is going through right now.

I know better than to question Romo's work ethic or determination. His teammates and coaches all rave about these aspects of his character, and they're around him all the time.

But I'm supposed to question his character because he said a football game isn't LITERALLY the equivalent of life-or-death to him?

no I say that cause anytime somebody gets physical with dork he stops driving the ball and starts taking long jumpers for the rest of the game. The guy in my av would have dirk or any of your girly soccer players screaming like the little girls that they are.

He didnt have to voice it in the media,do u think michael jordan or peyton manning or Aikmen would ever say that? just to name a few champion winners.

You're right, he didn't.

But he did.

And now I ask you: so what? His teammates know how much the game means to him. They see how hard he works.

So why does Tony pointing out something so obvious to the media, matter so much to you?

Do you have an actual problem with his mind-set? Have you lost in an important sporting event AND lost a loved one, and the pain you felt for each event was similar?

(Let me know if your answer is "yes", and I'll gladly sponsor your stay at the Betty Ford Center)

Dirkistan is a top 5 player in the NBA.In fact he is the best PF in the NBA.Dude what Im saying is this guy plays his nads off for his team and shuts his mouth. He is clutch when it matters most.Barber does this too.Romo is a celebrity QB u cannot deny it,he lives for the limelight.I think he can get back to not being that way if he wants too.He hath broken some of the TUNAs commandments bad.lol.

Please don't ever compare or associate any Cowboy player past or present with Dirk.

You are either very young or don't know much about basketball. Magic, Bird, Jordan, Dumars.....those players had will, drive, and heart. They did everything in their power to win a game, including playing defense and letting others do the scoring.

No doubt Dirk is a good player, but is borderline HOF material. He has not won a darn thing, unless you want to gush about his game last night. He is the reason they were swept by the Warriors and why the Heat came back to win the Championship.

As for the Romo Decembers, I don't understand how he gets balmed for the poor end of year play. Sure he has plenty of blame, but for the most part he brought the team back in position to win the game.
