Neither could get it done but I usually felt Dallas had a chance in any game with Romo. Yea, Dak puts up more stats but the game keeps progressively going towards the passing game. Romo also had Garrett for the bulk of his career too.

Is this like the millionth post of Romo vs Prescot???????? Clutch???????? There was something about Romo when it came to big games, you always felt he was going to give the Cowboys a chance. That can't be said about Prescot, every time he drops back to pass in a big game your attention immediately goes to where he's throwing the ball and what defender is in the neighborhood to pick it.
Are you describing Dak or Romo?

Yeah mods having an opinion isn’t shocking. Nobody wants generic robot like responses. But I guess I assumed to be a mod you had to be fair and balanced…
Again, I ask that you expand upon your claim that I was overly critical of the posting of Dak Attacks videos over other posted sports talking heads videos. It would help substantiate your implied 'fair and balanced' preconception.

I favor Romo to retain his TV commentator position and for Dak to retain his #1 QB spot with the Cowboys. :muttley::thumbup:They're both fairly safe!

Never said you were being overly critical. Ive just observed these type of responses when it’s anything Dak related. But when I see posters posted Cowerd, Bayless, Carton…nothing.

Cowboys had a choice in 2016, we know what they chose. We could have had a solid backup in case Romo got hurt again. Which is what we drafted him for.

The Romo I saw on his return in 2016 is the choice most GM’s make who aren’t pandering to public perception.

Jethro would have been severely bashed if Romo would have lost out early in playoffs for pulling a hot hand in Dak although his hand had cooled off a bit. He was better off publicly losing with Dak than inserting Romo back in. And why owners wearing multiple hats are a conflict of interest.

Romo could have been knocked again but with #1 seed I’d of sure liked our chances better with a veteran Romo, like we saw in his last playoff performance in 2014. We’ll never know. And Romo never saw the gridiron again.

Im not sure we are in a better place today from that decision?

Don’t know why this topic keeps coming up. It’s been the same results in the playoffs with both QBs. However, Dak has a better winning percentage, we’ve won more division titles with him and we’ve made it to the playoffs more times with him. He’s also finished higher the MVP voting than Romo ever did and he’s led the league in TD passes, which is something Romo never did. Not to mention he’s missed fewer games with injuries than Romo. Despite both having only 2 playoff wins Dak has been the better, more steady QB.
Defensive rankings for Dak vs Romo? Defensive turnovers by year? I am too lazy, but I would bet that Dak has had far better support on these issues...

Defensive rankings mean nothing. Our defense has stunk in the playoffs with both QBs. Both QBs dealt with pretty much the same team issues, but the Cowboys have been more undisciplined/penalty prone during Dak’s tenure. If we’re not leading the league in penalties we’re close.

Dak and Romo should have battled it out @ training camp after Romo lost his job from injury the previous year.
I think the writing was on the wall for Tony Romo post-2016. Jerry Jones had established full support of his successor by late October 2016. Romo would not have returned for 2017.

How Jones and Jason Garrett decided to compete for a Super Bowl, in regards to the quarterback position that season, is my lingering issue. It is one thing to make the permanent switch at the position for the seasons to come. That is what happened. It is what every team does at some point for any position.

It is another thing to gamble on any championship contending opportunity--no matter how remote or miniscule--based on a rookie quarterback leading the team to one. No rookie quarterback accomplished the feat before 2016. The same has held true after 2016. There was zero reason to believe it would become reality in 2016. And yet, that is exactly what Jones (and Garrett) believed, along with a sizeable number of fans and media alike.

Appearing in or winning Super Bowls are fleeting opportunities. 2016 was Jones' biggest gamble up to that point of his tenure as general manager. Well. No one can push him away from the poker table. He holds all the chips every year, lol.

Whether someone prefers Romo or Dak isn’t shocking. Both choked in the playoffs so I get choosing either guy or choosing neither.

But this warped view you guys have of them both is just insane. One is on training wheels and one had the mental aspect down except when it came to the end of the game and he’s throw a stupid incompletion or interception…it’s just odd lol.
It was because of him we had a shot at the end.
How many times did you expect romo to go back out and win the game. A obvious example is not a playoff game, but peytons broncos. Toe to toe with peyton play after play, series after series. Defense just couldt get a stop. Until finally at the end romos numbers ran out.

But according to "yall"....that is the same choke job as daks 2 interceptions and 14 easy 1st half points.

And you trying to pretend not biased. Lol.

"But when I see posters posted.."

I am a poster.

Allow me to ask a more specific question. Have you not read any post made by me concerning Cowherd, Bayless, Carton, videos within the Fan Forum?
