This has nothing to do with Romo nor Dak, it is where Dak fell in order of Quarterbacks we had since we won a championship. Dak had his chance, and it doesn't seem he can do it in the playoffs. I assume, you think that you are getting 2023 Dak next year.
I mean its been what 9 or 10 years? I think we know what we are getting with Dak. One thing he doesn't do is not show us what we are getting. We know.

Fans expected them to get deeper in the playoffs with Romo. We had some real good teams then that came up short. Romo didn’t play well in those games which led to a lot of attacks. Fans were ready to move on from him after the 2012 season when he laid an egg against Washington that kept us out of the playoffs. He was in line for an extension and fans wanted the team to move on. It’s been the same with Dak but the amount of money he makes has made the attacks relentless.
This is not the expectation fans have of the Quarterback, but the expectation the fans have on the Organization. The longer the drought, the more fed up people are with 1 and done or worse seasons. That is why fans are more expedient in wanting to move on from the next Quarterback, if it seems it is more of the same. 2014 was the best the cowboys have done in the postseason in the playoffs, the current quarterback, given his wear and tear and the talent level surrounding him seems unable to surpass that. If that is what people think, then why is it surprising to think that they want to continue the search for someone who can surpass that, if they don't believe at this point Dak can?

you can scroll back to 2007 on this board and find a thread...........How to and what is the best way to do this?
I did it the brute force method. the ... on the page number of the forums, jump to 3000 and then use that again to get closer to the month and year you want to look for.

You think that Dak at this point of his career can improve and make up for the diminishing quality of surrounding cast?
I mean I don't know. You can diminsh the quality fo surrounding cast. A lot of these guys are just popular. They aren't necessarily great players. I'm a Diggs fan but is he better then Trent McDuffie? Hell no. But Diggs is more popular so people will assume he is.

But ultimately Dak needs a good team around him. A better team than this. He's not good enough to overcome a bad running game and not stopping the run. If he has to score 30 points for us to win week in and out we have a problem.

The fans have high expectations of the team but the more money a QB makes, the higher the expectations they have on the QB.

Kept us in games we had no business winning, was amazing in the clutch, made putrid teams with porous o-lines, no run game and atrocious defenses worth watching (some of those 8-8 seasons would have been 3-13 or 2-14 without him), kept running for his life and the accumulation of injuries got to him in the end. When the old fool finally decided to give him a line it was already too late, his body was broken.

Made some mistakes earlier in his career and got vilified for it, anyone with an iota of football knowledge know how talented he was. In his prime he was a top 5 QB in the league, unquestionably.

His spin out of JJ Watt to find Terrance Williams is still one of the best plays I've ever seen in the NFL.
