I only care about putting together a team that is good enough to win SBs regardless if the QB is great, good, a bus driver, or if there are other QBs that are “better.”
This thread is quite literally a discussion about a QB's individual talent and skill, so your opinion on team building is pointless in this discussion. It's fine if you only care about putting together a team regardless of it's around a good or great QB, but this is a discussion about the individual talent of one player, irregardless of the good or bad team put around them.

Saying that Aikman has more superbowls than a bunch of other QBs isn't relevant when you're talking about individual awards/distinctions because, as you said, the super bowl is a team award. If we were talking about legacy instead of individual talent, I would fully agree with you that Aikman is greater

Romo but not Jimmy? Ridiculous. I like Tony and don’t blame him for the mediocrity when he was here but there is no way he should be in the Ring. Never won a thing and barely sniffed the playoffs. Ware and Witten are probably the only guys I would add from that era. Great Cowboys going to the HOF. Romo? Please.

Much deserved. Romo owns all of the Cowboys important passing records, some NFL passing records, and kept the team relevant for a decade

He was not awesome. He was OK. The idea that he was some great QB is basically a recent phenomenon created by Dak slobberers to diminish Romo. No one thought he was a great QB during his career, and there was never any outrage that he wasn’t in the Ring of Honor, because no one thought he was that good.
During the 8 year period where he was the starter, White threw more interceptions than every player in the league except one, Dan Fouts. And Fouts had over 7,000 more passing attempts.

You have no idea b/c you obviously never saw him play. The point is that he COULD HAVE been great but his career was derailed by injuries and the NFL player strike. From 80-83, Danny was as good as anyone in the league. He was never the same after the injuries. But, He was certainly more successful in his short career than Romo whose head and shoulders above Dak. And Dan Fouts is in HOF fame. So, thats not making your point either. Nowadays, young people love to look back at stats that were meaningless in the day and pretend they know something about a player.

There are plenty QBs who were not the best in regards to regular season stats who won SBs; since football is a team sport.
And Plunkett's Raiders have two Lombardi's, while Stabler's Raiders have one.

But Stabler is in the Hall of Fame, while Plunkett is not, because halls of fame, rings of honor, and the practice of retiring jerseys all exist to honor individual players -- not teams.

You ever see Aikman play?

I think Romo was a great QB but he is not the best pure passer to wear the star. Aikman was maybe the best pure passer in league history.

I have been a fan since 1975 so yes I have seen Aikman play. Many times in person at that.

So Witten isn't allowed in....despite being a top 5-10 TE of all time?

Think and then post.

That's expected. A lot of people don't think when related to Romo. Romo's career comes down to only one thing for them.

LOL. Tearing up the Eagles' Week 17, nothing to play for defense. Okay.

They played harder in '16 than last year when they rested their better defensive players, and we only put up 6. Still have to be competent to put up points.

It's funny, for all the talk that Aikmans teams were loaded, which is fair, Romo will have played with almost as many HOFers as Troy...........TO, and future ones Ware and Whitten.

Romo just never had a top defense . Fans often forget in 92 Cowboys had #1 defense.

You better put Danny White in before Romo. Romo was not breaking a lot of records owned by Staubach and Aikman. Those were Danny White held records. Danny White who unlike Romo was able to pass his way to 3 NFC Championship games with more playoff wins than Romo.

Romo deserves to be in the Ring of Honor. But, lets be fair about what it should take to be in the Ring of Honor as a Dallas Cowboy.

Tom Landry is there so should Jimmy Johnson be there. Tex Schramm is there so should Gil Brandt be there. When Jerry puts Romo in there and does not have those two men and consider Danny White it just like everything today...It is not the Dallas Cowboys but the Dallas Jonesboys.

So Romo shouldn't be in because he "never won a thing" but Ware and Witten should? What did uh they win again?

You'd think it'd require no more than 4th grade level thinking to figure this out, but some will never get it.
Team game with individual players.

He needed that because his top 10 offense wasn't going to score much in elimination games.
Probably not enough to overcome a lesser defense. Dak ran into the same problem in 2016 when 31 points wasn’t enough.
