What if I tell you that we've not always had this bad of a defense? Would you care? I'll answer that for you, if it doesn't support Romo's argument, you won't care.

let me answer your own question....

It's predictable how some who want Orton to be better make him out to be...even saying how good the offense looked.

Let's get to the very simple facts of points scored.

In our home games this year
Under Romo:
36
34
48
31
27
31
36

Under Orton
22

It is not really close
Give us our worst scoring output all year under Romo and we win.

Having said that, I really do think Orton played pretty well.

Anyone have the stats handy on defensive scoring or points off of turnovers? I'm just honestly curious as that is also a factor when we are discussing points scored.

That's stronger than goat's breath. Considering that the D played pretty well, the minimal number of drive killing penalties, and the good OL play, you would have to be a short bus regular to believe that Romo doesn't win this one at home.

Somebody's looking for a dropped microphone in the middle of a play by play and if they should find said mic - not a whole lot to say after that. In fact, that should be sent to Jonathan Bales. It's as eye opening as it gets.

how many did we score last time vs the eagles with Romo starting? I know for a fact one TD came in garbage time

Perfect - you think he's garbage anyhow.

Those are your words, I've seen you say it. So do it, start a thread with "Tony Romo is Garbage - Here's Why."

This would be much more productive and informattive than posting drive-by's with cheap shots on Romo I. challenge you to start a thread on why Tony Romo is garbage. I know many of us will respect your stance even though we might disagree. In fact you might say something that none of us have thought of and make us think twice. But at least we can see if you have some substance behind your comments.

If you don't or won't, you will just be another ten percenter sniping at others who have the conviction to get behind their stance and the discipline to back it up with due-diligence. I for one can't wait to see what "garbage" looks like.

Can't wait! Thanks.

This is not accurate DFWJC. I mean, I understand where you are going here but this WAS NOT our worst scoring output. Romo only scored 17 in the 1st Philly game, and to be honest, he didn't really score them. He only threw 1 TD in that game and the Defense was really responsible for the majority of our scoring opportunities, holding Philly to only 3 points.

Several other games this season, we scored less then 22 points. 16 to KC, 21 to San Diego, 17 to the Saints and remember, just two games earlier, Romo also threw 5 picks against the Bears. It's no guarantee that we would have done better or worse had Romo played.

35, bad back, regressing every year. he has one, maybe two years left as a starter before he becomes a backup

33
Who says his back is bad - didn't surgery fix it?
Just came off his best year.
Should start for at least the next 2 years and beyond.

There is no way to tell what would have happened here. Would you get a perfect Romo or a 5 INT Romo? You can't know but there is one thing we absolutely know. Romo was not available and because of this, what is the point of arguing that we would have won? What we should have done is execute the best possible game plan for Orton. I don't think we did that.

LoI. I can't take you serious

That's fine.
Just look at our point totals in home and away games this year. Observe the huge difference, and maybe it won't be so over your head.

You guys who dismiss the difference between home and away....well, what the heck league have you been watching all these years?

There's a reason 14 of 16 home teams were favored this week.

Dallas scores WAY more at home than on the road this year.
You cannot compare the two.

To be honest, you are right.
No way to know for sure.
