I mentioned this to my brother a few days after the game. I said, man this guy did this on purpose. He wanted to be the star, thought he could pull it off, but it didn't work.

And then I thought, Parcells thought he had the guy, didn't and said OFF. Not that I think that is any great loss. Believe me, I think Parcells is overrated. He can take a team to the top in two, maybe three years, after that, well, not going to happen. So be glad you are rid of him -- at this point anyway.

I think I am right, Romo is a hot shot. I'm also pretty sure he is not going to be the guy you think he is. I think you should have drafted Quinn.

Just my thoughts, I have no vested interest.

But it is kind of fun to throw this stuff out. My feelings, for what it is worth, waiting for the real games to begin.

So basically you just like making stupid comments that make no sense what so ever because your bored? I take it there are no Patty sites you can go to so that you can share this vast knowledge with them?

Well, got you thinking and having a little fun.

But seriously, it was the first thing that went in my mind during that play. Hot shot, did it on purpose. Backfired, but maybe it might not have.

Too much of a hot shot.

Me thinks the upcoming season will prove me right.

Take a look at how many dropped passes he had in the last 5 games (IIRC, he had *19* dropped passes in those last 5 games. Then factor in the lack of a running game and then factor in the inconsistent play of the O-Line (the Lions game was atrocious to watch). He still wound up with an 83.7 QB rating in those last 5 games.

Hot shot because he has gone out and did a good job for the Cowboys? What the heck is your deal? Did Romo kick your dog.

Not really stupid because it is what I thought at the time. I absolutely, positively could be wrong, but it is the first thing that went in my mind during that play. It's called instinct. You feel it -- and that is based upon the other games I saw him play in. Why guy are you running around, smiling???

I think with TO and Glenn most of us could look like good QB's. Glenn first.

If you are a dog lover, you are right up my alley. Nah, it is just something I thought during that game and yes, just sitting here on my computer and wondering if any Boys fans thought the same. Guess not.

I still am pretty sure I am right. The whole play just made no sense. There is no other explanation. Other than, he was so excited he just lost it and could not make a simple play. That is also a possibility. But, nah.

So if my "Pats Fan to English" dictionary is accurate, you're saying that you think Romo decided to go for it on 4th down, because he's such an ego maniac. So he lines up as the holder, and instead of catching the ball and putting it down to let Grammatica kick an extra-point-length FG, he's already decided he's going to run with it. But he doesn't just catch the ball and take off. That would be too obvious. First, he lets the ball slip out of his hands, and land on the ground. Then he picks it up, runs around Grammatica, and tries to get to either the 1st down or the TD. Do I have that about right?

Romo finished 2006 in the top five in all three of the following categories: completion percentage, passer rating, and yards per attempt.

How hard is it to do this?

Only four QB's finished the season ranked in the top ten in all three of those categories. (Manning, Brees, Bulger, and Romo)

No, I think that in the back of his mind he wanted to win the game on his own. He was so excited thinking about doing that he lost track of what was really going to win the game. Nuff said.

I am sure a couple of you thought that too.

What are some of the compliants against him?

he doesn't look for his checkdown receiver, holds the ball too far out when scrambling, and holds onto the ball sometimes too long waiting for a big-play to develop, part of that is on the D giving up racks of yards and points, putting the onus on the O and Romo to make big plays and score points to keep up, but a majority is on Romo, he needs to fix those things

You know PF when you came over here to give your insight on the Bledsoe situation-- I knew it was spot on.

But your spin on Romo is just so over the edge...

I think one of Romo's strenghts is going to the "check-down". That's partly why his completion percentage is so high.

idk, his ypa was high as well

I just can't think of too many examples where Romo dumped the ball to his checkdown receivers

How did we get a playoff berth by mathematics, we were 9-7 and the other wildcard was what, 8-8? Not like we won on tie breakers.

That is what I meant....mulligan.
